Is the metal gear solid series still good?
I remember playing solid snake on ps1 was quite fun
I feel like it went downhill from MGS 5.
5's Narrative is weak compared to what came before.
1 to 4 are amazing - especially 2 and 4 in its design, story themes, gameplay, music, innovation (the list goes on) (for me).
Despite what many folks say, Raiden in MGS 2 was a great character to see grow throughout the game.

@YoursTruly: Survive wasn’t made by Kojima, doesn’t really count.
5 is great, easily the best gameplay in the series. Narrative is definitely weaker though, Konami forced it out before it was fully formed.

Each game is amazing but 4 imo was the worst in the series.
@Slurped: 4 is basically a direct sequel to 2.
4 makes super sense and is even more epic with the full experience and awareness of 1 & 2 (and 3 of course)

PS1 version is quite short, which is a good starting point to the series really. These games are amazing and 3/Snake Eater is firmly in the amazing camp. Kojima is our god.

I never played the original on the PS2 when it came out. When I played the version ported to the PS3 via the HD remaster, it was meh. I don't recommend it for anyone without the nostalgia, but good price nonetheless.

If Silent Hill 2 pricing is anything to go by, I can’t imagine getting a much better price than this. The lowest price for SH2 on PS5 was $79 for a good ten months before dropping to $69 (then obviously the ludicrous deal a few weeks back if you were lucky).
Bugger - I'm still getting refused to price match even on this higher up price. I wonder if I should keep rolling the dice and see if I can get someone who will match it…
