Half way thru a replay of part 2 now, i’m amazed at how much they changed in S2 of the show. Far more divergence from the original script than S1.
I actually didn't mind the second season. I don't like what they did with Ellie, but largely liked it.

I played through Part II on the PS4 after playing through the original twice a year or so apart, needless to say I really enjoyed the experience but initially preferred the original game.
Recently picked up Part I for PS5 and played through it pretty quickly over 2 weeks and then upgraded to Part II remastered and went with the chronological story mode. I was surprised how playing through chronologically improved the game for me, and in my opinion it was the best of any of TLOU experiences I had.
The updated graphics of Part I were a huge difference to the original of course but I did enjoy the slight upgrades to Part II remastered as well and for $15 it was worth it for me.
If you have PS+ Extra I’d definitely recommend having another play through in chronological story mode.
It's different when you paid for it ($15 for the upgrade) vs when it is on PS+ Extra. You have incentive to play it. With PS+ Extra, most people who played it will probably just try it out and unless they have no backlog of games to play on PS+ Extra, I doubt most of them will re-play the game in full again.
The game has very good graphics, but it's not an enjoyable game to play (gameplay wise). Pacing is an issue with this game. The story basically milks that key moment in part 1 a lot (so you essentially gets a 360 view on that event from both sides). The power of father and daughter relationship is dialed up to the max. No player's choice for the ending (probably because Neil Druckmann wants to leave the door open for part 3).
For someone who already played, I suggest just load your favourite chapter(s) and/or encounter(s) and see if you like the graphics upgrade a lot. If you found that amazing, replay the game.

TLOU 2 has amazing graphics when it was released for PS4/PS4 Pro. However, the remaster version is milking customers. Factions (the multi-player mode) got canned, and there is no FSR or ray tracing. John Linneman (Digital Foundry) said: they should’ve called this a Director’s Cut.
For 4 years, all Naughty Dog did was remaking / remastering The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2. The new game most likely won't get released until 2027, so we are looking at towards the end of PS5 lifecycle. If PS6 is released soon after, we might see yet another remaster. Really disappointed with Naughty Dog.

Nope. If you cancel you lose access. But it will be available in your library when you sign up again. Unless they take it away.
You can pay for a month and then cancel auto-renew right away. It's handy if you happen to be able to play some games for the next 30 days. Or, if you haven't played TLOU2 and really want to play it, then pay for a month is a good option.
