    Hey, it's express, not square

    • doh! Thanks for pointing that out.

  • Anyone know if this tries to install drivers or software? Can it be used without any software installing? Just format and go?

    • you should always be able to format a drive. Just download EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition it does a pretty good job. btw if you ever need to format something to be accessible by Windows, Mac and Linux a good way to do it is to format it UDF/ISO format. You simply format it as a hard drive and it is readable by all 3 operating systems and doesn't have a 4GB file size limit like FAT32.

      • Thanks. I'll try that on this WD passport drive I have that keeps installing software every time I plug it in.

  • Good deal but I think this, as you pointed out, is the pertinent point:

Only 50 units available and limited to one per customer.

    • Still 49 more units than some of the COTD deals! My question is what is the postage cost?

Looks like about $9 to $14 postage depending on distance from NSW.

        • Thanks.

  • Which was the one with the bad track record? Shopping square or Shopping express?

There names sadly are both very similar that I forget. :(

    • I have made several expensive purchases from Shopping Express without issue. That's just my experience though.

      • I have had good experience with Shopping Express.

Shopping Express has good deals on Laptops and hard drives.

Shopping Square sells random Chinese stuff, USB sticks, iPhone cables etc.

I agree the names are confusing.

    • Shoppingsquare is the crap one

  • Says 2 year warranty… has anyone dealt with either this company or Buffalo technology?

    • Says where? Clearly says 3 years under Warranty tab

  • Express is good!

  • Sold out

    • Was still able to get to checkout page (last step before payment)
Drive is 5400RPM according to this

No it's not, just placed my order and it went through $178 shipped

      • I added mine to cart 8.58pm then spent almost 10mins to do last minute research on price and brand before finally made payment at 9.07pm. I assume they didn't manage to sell them out.

        • It's a pretty good deal for a 4TB, speed isn't the fastest out there but it is good for its storage size.
