What's the point of chips without the fat? Salt alone isn't going to cut it.

It still uses fat, just less of it…

"reduces fat by up to 80%"

I prefer looking out for negative votes on jv's comments. Better than anything currently on tv

thanks for your opinion, i still prefer woks and kettles!!! XD

        • Sorry mate negged you by accident, is there no way to un-neg?

        • lol thats fine.

  • how does this compare against the Tefal Actifry? Same tech, different brand?

  • I own one of these (different colour, but fairly sure the model is the same)
    good for chips
bad for spring rolls (they tend to split and go mooshy.
great for slightly healthier buffalo wings (get louisiana wing kit from the reject shop of all places)
good for all sorts of frozen snacks (nuggets, chicken strips etc…)

I do recommend, but not for the $229 it's usually at.

Tefal has a blade that stirs it as it cooks, which leads to a more even "fry", but I usually take out the draw of the Philips and shake every 4 or 5 mins (for chips)

    • oh - chips take around 18 minutes and don't come out dry like an oven bake… it's really close to being deepfried. I spray with olive oil before cooking

      • Do you spray as well as using the recommend spoon full of oil?

  • what about using a small amount of dripping to cook chips. would the taste be there?….. they just dont make chips like they used to… even if they live longer.
