$40 Scanpan Impact 28cm Stainless Steel Saute Pan from House, Sold for $159 in Myers

250

This frying pan is sold for $159.99 at Myers and is on discount at House Chatswood, Sydney. It is not listed on the website for some reason. Go into the store and check it out. The store clerk mentioned that they have a large quantity and they are getting rid the remaining stock of them because Myers is holding stock and they can't compete on price going forward.

  • great price, have developed a love for scanpan gear over the last 5 or so years. Great quality especially when you pick it up for these prices.

  • Does anyone know if this is available in WA as well?

    • Let me know if you have any luck in Perth because I'm interested too…

House in Midland Clayton St are having 50% off on all Scanpan pots/pans but don't know how their "sale price" rates against regular street price shoppinmg. They quote RRP prices comparisons but RRP as we know is to be taken with grain of salt.

    • None at whitdords, sales lady said they don't sell them anymore…

      • That's Whitfords of course, bloody mobile keyboard…

  • How do you avoid food sticking to the base with a stainless steel pan?

    • i have burnt a few things over time with stainless steel pans, not had an issue to date with cleaning them. Just don't leave them over night, clean them after you cook/eat. also non-scratch scourers seem to work a treat.

Make sure the oil in the pan is sufficiently hot before you start cooking.

    • Use 50% butter, 50% oil. Preheat, always stir. Things do stick still, but this is good, deglaze with liquid of your choice and watch it turn into a sauce. If it doesn't lift, perhaps pans too hot.

      • Preheat is definitely the key.

  • going forward

A positive vote of course OP - BUT you did mean "in the future" - correct?

  • $75 + delivery at yourhomedepot, who are usually cheaper than most cookware deals people post on OzB.

    Very nice price.

  • Any word on stores in Melbourne?

No go for Highpoint Store (Melb). Store manager first said they had no stock available and then when I found one left on the shelf she insisted that prices differed from store to store and that they couldn't price match. They had the pan at $99 (post 40% reduction). Bummer!

The store in Burwood first thought it was $70 when I asked if they had any stock… After I mentioned that I found somewhere that they were selling for $40, she checked something and profusely apologized and said that yes, they were selling for the ridiculous low price of $40.
