  • Anyone know the price of the 'consumables'?

  • Damn, those laser printers are expensive. Wish they had a small cash back or rebate for the printers starting from 100-200.

Damn, about a month after I bought my HL-4150CDN. Great printer though. $300, so this would have dropped it to $200. Hmmm tempted to buy another one for that price lol.

EDIT: Having said that, I shopped around hard to find that price (StaticIce), the big players were charging over $500 so this cashback is useless if restricted to the places who overcharge in the first place.

    • You could always price match

Quick price comparison for HN, TGG, DSE & Scorptec with saving percentages (only did it for Laser's and the A3 inkjet i'm interested in)

CPL has the Brother MFC-J6910DW for $299
      http://www.cplonline.com.au/printers/multifunction-inkjet/br…

      • is CPL an eligible retailer? how about scorptec? (as mentioned by thegubble)

        • I was going to contact Brother or CPL them self and ask them if they are eligible since Brother stats that "participating business to business retailers." Which Centrecom, CPL and Scorptec are in theory B2B, but I just going to confirm it with them before I buy. Or I might just Price match it with other retailer such as The Good Guys or estore.com.au (since they have the promotion on their website http://www.estore.com.au/product/brt0360)

        • I just spoken to them on 1300 761 785 and they said Centrecom is eligible, since Centrecom is eligible I believe CPL and or Scorptec is also eligible

    • Updated table to include CPL & Landmark

Scorptec is participating, as mentioned on their website.

  • Remind you that all brother printers need to replace drum unit from 12000 pages print out depending on the model. for heavy user it will cost double compare to other brand with expected 3yrs lifetime.

Hmm, tempted to buy the A3 Printer (MFC-J6910DW), anyone used one of these?

    • No, I haven't but after doing research about A3 Printers, this is the one I am planning to buy. Read the reviews, search "MFC-J6910DW review"

      • Yeah i've read the reviews, little worried that most of them say things like:
        - print quality isn't a strong point
        - Text printing a little grey
        - Photo printing a little too red
Was hoping someone on OZB may have used this model and see what they thought

this clip is quite good, shows how quick the scanning is.
shame it doesnt hold A3 and A4 paper at the same time though

  • Link to the cash back is dead now?

  • Anyone know what happened with the cash back site? I want to order a printer that i dont really need lol so without cash back im sort of thinking of taking a pass on the deal.

  • Penta Group is an eligible participating retailer. It is also one of the cheaper ones for the HL-5470DW ($231+$16.99 P&H). See emails below:

    Hi XXXX,

Thanks for your email. Yes, the Penta Group are a participating retailer
in the current cash back promotion.

    Dear Brother,

Would you be able to tell me if the Penta Group (www.penta.com.au) is an
participating business to business retailer for the cashback offer for
printers from May 1st to 31st July 2013?

I was just wanted to make sure that they were eligible before I purchased
a Brother printer from them. Thank you!

    Regards,
    XXXX

    • What ever you do dont go through PENTA. Read about them on whirlpool, nightmares await you.

      • Oops, too late. Will report back on how it goes…

        • Ordered the HL-5740DW from Penta 13/05/13. Received today 27/05/13. Got scared by all the whirlpool reviews so I emailed them to find out why the delay. They called me back to say it was to be delivered today.

Very happy for $150 including postage ($250 minus $100 cashback)!

Registered the cashback offer and sending in the receipt tomorrow. Will post back when I receive the $100.

        • How did you get it for $150 after cash back inclusive of shipping when its liked for $286? Thus without factoring shipping it would still work out to only $186 after cash back.

To post to SA they want $55.40 + 286 = $341.40 (i bought mine from UMART for $307 shipped)

Just curious as at $150 ill buy another one.

        • From Penta, I got it for $231.00 + $16.99 Postage = $247.99. I live in Sydney. Just came down to $230 now as well. Not sure if I would recommend Penta though, seeing that it took that long to come and required a few emails.

  • If anyone is interested i cheapest reliable company i would go with is UMART VIC. Just ordered mine now. There are a few cheaper places found through staticice but they are headaches to say the least (have a read on whirlpool).

Ezzie7 update us how you go with Penta. Im happy, was like $275 from Umart and $27 shipped.

  • Orders on Saturday from UMART and got shipping confirmation today. Hows PENTA going? Heard anything from them?

  • If anyone is wondering UMART VIC is awesome. Ordered midday Saturday and Wednesday it was at my door in Adelaide. Mad props to these guys.

    • Is UMART ok for the cashback offer? Friend wants to get a printer and trying to figure out what a good Penta alternative is.

      • Yeah i spoke to them and they said it shouldn't be a problem. First time i used UMART (none in SA) and very very happy with everything.

Just out of interest how many emails did you have to send to Penta and how long was the wait for it to arrive all up?

        • Just needed to send a couple of emails. Took two weeks to arrive from clicking order button on website to the doorbell ringing. Give or take a few hours.

        • UMART is amazing - rang them up to check cashback and stock and they were extremely helpful.
Put the order in about 11am, delivered to my home 2:30pm same day :)
