I'd think it's just supply and demand.

    • +2

      Maybe to you…

I don't see anything wrong with sleek black :-)

      • -3

Absolutely. I was expressing my views. Wasn't saying everyone should see it the same way. I just find black on the S3 really crap. But on the S4 I actually like the black.

        • +1

You know what they say, 'once you go black, you don't go back'…

  • +2

    $380 is just insane O_O

  • +1

good deal. $10 more for white and $30 more for Grey :(

    • finally i bought the black one rather than grey :) saving

  • +4

I just bought this last night for $398.. do they refund the difference?

    • They should be able to. Give them a call/email them. I've done it once before and they agreed to do it.

    • The same thing literally happened to me…

I just gave them a call. They will e-mail me a $20 store credit by the end of the day.

      Quite happy :)

      • Ive called them and my request has been put through to accounts..
So assuming it actually gets processed, all good

      • +2

if you used a 28degrees card with price protection
you couldve got $20 store credit + credit card refund of $20

        WINNING

    • +3

Have received email from Kogan already stating that my refund has been processed.

Quick enough turn around and $19 back to me :)

    • thanks people in this chain, I'm also getting a refund… and hopefully they'll dispatch my phone soon! Does anyone know what the limit is for kogan refunding price drops? That's the time when I stop looking so I don't see how much my impatience cost me :p

  • $379 for the 4G shipped- wow!

When will the prices stop dropping- I don't know when to buy!

    • +9

When your current phone "accidentally" breaks ;)

  • Torn between this and the Nexus 4!!

    • Torn between this and the Note II 4G. But mainly because of battery life…and that the note II might be a little too big.

      • Check out the Nexus 4's battery life- not as good as the S3 I've heard

        • yes but this is the 4G S3. it has crappy battery life too.

        • +2
        • How good it would be! Only sold through Amazon, won't ship it to Oz - unless you know another way?

        • +2

Solution: turn off 4G when you don't use it.

        • nor can you with the 4G S3, Not compatible with I9305.

        • @dsar why not?

        • @dy4me I think dsar was replying to furythree.

    • No 4G in the Nexus 4 is a bit of a deal breaker for me. It's not future proof.

      • +3

Each to their own. Never going to need 4G speeds here, and current LTE chips aren't to nice on the battery. So I'll take a 3G for now.

        • +1

or u can disable LTE and get better battery life. not to mention the extra 1gb ram the LTE version comes with

        • Can you turn off 4G, but leave 3G on? I thought it'd be an 'all or nothing' setup.

Does that mean that it constantly has 2 chips/channels connected otherwise?

  • +1

And to think I paid $580 for this back in November makes me cry.

    • +9

well, you've enjoyed it for the last 6 months so it's not too bad really.

    • I paid 569 for the 3g 32gb. luckily (or unluckily? ) for me, I had to send it back twice because it was faulty. got a local note 2 4g from jb now :)

  • What price do you think it will hit by 30 June?

    • $349 to match nexus 4

  • +4

So funny now, their S3 I9300 3G version are more expensive at $399 !!! If they can drop that to below $300, i dont mind to buy 3G version instead …

  • My word, what a good price, even for a grey import. +ve.

  • Thank you. Just bought one for Mrs for Mother Day. She doesn't mind if it doesn't arrive on time.

  • +1

    Better and better prices everyday!

    Heads up for you guys interested in MirrorLink with the S3, DriveLink has been cracked and Full Mirroring is now possible. Head to XDA for more info;

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837847&pag…

    • Decided to find out what DriveLink is..

So if you have an older car with a more basic stereo system it won't work with it?

Full mirroring i.e. mirroring the S3's screen onto the car's screen?

      • +1

So if you have an older car with a more basic stereo system it won't work with it?

Correct. You need a MirrorLink headunit, of which only a handful are currently available. Sony, Alpine and JVC combined have about 5 or 6 models.

        • Interesting. Sounds a little dangerous to be mirroring your phone onto a car screen while driving though.

        • Common sense comes into play. ;)

Just need Spotify to make their shit app have a landscape option now. Looks weird all stretched out in portrait only mode on MirrorLink, lol.

  • So I can't decide… do you think the S4 is more worth it at $749 (for the 4G) or the S3 for $379 delivered… almost $400 for a nicer screen…

    • +1

theres a lot more differences that just a nicer screen, but i personally dont see it being worthwhile. save the 400 to buy your next phone and be happy with a s3

      • Agree. As it will always be expensive when it's new. Just like LED TV.. look how cheap they are now compare to says 3 years ago?

        • cool… ive got the iphone 4s at the moment, and happy to get something with a larger screen. thats what appealed to me with the S4 being 1080p and a higher resolution… but probably not $400 better. I don't mind too much about the camera and other software features… the S3 4G has 2gb of ram as well which will future proof it a bit.

  • 4G version of the S3 does not come in blue :(.

    • +1

grab some nail polish and you can have it in any colour you want :D

  • How are Kogan with refunding orders? Seeing as this ships in 2-3 weeks, would they normally just reverse the order?

Basically- in the next few days I may receive a phone (but it's only a 50/50 chance). I don't want to miss out on this deal (saving $20).

    Thoughts?

    • +1

You really need to ask yourself is it worth risking $379.00 to save $20.00?

Also chances are that this price will become more common in weeks to come.

      • I thought that, but with Kogan's 14 day returns policy, I'd get my money back and just have to pay the ~$17 for postage back to them… So ends up being about even (with a bit of extra fuss though)

        • +1

so in the end, all that hassle will save you a total of $3.00AUD.

        • Yes but most importantly i'll get to test/try out the phone. Im used to a lot smaller phones- so the size is a concern for me.

Btw- this was meant to finish at midnight, but free shipping is still available.

        • Free shipping has been extended until 12 o'clock tonight, as per their website.

        • Pfffew… I finally got mine a couple of hours ago. Thankfully if you put it in your cart, enter your address and details without paying for it, it stays there for a while (maybe 24 hours).

It's now gone upto $399 plus delivery ($418 total).

  • Thanks OP! Had my eye on this product for a while and finally bought one yesterday. Has anyone received a follow up despatch email for shipping / tracking information yet? Seeing as it was a good (and still ongoing) deal might be some delays with getting all those orders out…

    • I received the 'processed/packaging' email last night

  • For anyone who's interested- the offical Samsung extended battery (3000mAh) doesnt make the S3 much thicker. With the case it comes with, its the same thickness as the 3GS. It's normally $50 at shops/eBay, but MobileCiti has it for $33 (not sure this is the best price, but seems good).

    http://www.mobileciti.com.au/samsung-galaxy-s3-i9300-extende…

  • Is it in the box n what is include?

  • Ok- maybe this is nothing new, but I am still able to buy the GS3 for $379 if I follow the link in their email to me saying "Hurry! Last chance to complete your order". It's an email from 2 days ago.

Good to know I guess… If you're ever undecided about buying something from them, make the order, fill out your contact details and just don't complete your payment details. It's like Layby

    • I don't know why, but I"m still able to order it for $379 following the link from my email…

Mine hasn't been shipped yet, ordered 9-May, and yesterday received a message saying my order's "been processed for dispatch at one of our international facilities and we expect to confirm the shipment shortly"

  • Has anyones been shipped yet?

    • got my shipment notification this morning

      • Thanks for the reply, just got my shipping notification.

  • Thanks dude, I had one last week.

  • Expired

  • For those waiting on their stock.
Received mine today and it 'appears' to be Australian stock in that it came with (in the sealed box)
    - Australian charger
    - Warranty card with Samsung AUS address
    - Planet Ark recycle bag with Melbourne address
(plus an additional AU charger in seperate box included by Kogan)

    • nice ! did your stock come from HK? or Melbourne?

I ordered the Note II Grey, unfornately I happened to get European stock :(

      • Came from HK.

        • my s3 lte white just arrived,european stock,unsealed.

    • Received mine today! Australian stock as above.

      • Very surprising.. I wonder if you guys will be able to claim on Australian Samsung manufacturer's warranty then?

        • Well I registered mine on the Samsung site and it gives a warranty expiry in 2 years though I'm sure that wouldn't be valid once they ask for proof of purchase and it shows 'Kogan HK'

  • Just recieved mine, and the box seal was broken. Charger is an EU one, but they shipped a seperate AUS one.

How do i know if it's aussie stock? Im assuming no as it's with the eu adapter…

    • Ok- so it's Polish stock.

Do I need to be worry about it being unsealed?

I'm annoyed because of the charger/adapter. The Samsung stock (EU) adapter is tiny (which is extremely handy- easily disappears in the pocket).

The AU Adapter Kogan have sent is definitely not compact.

Is it worth writing to them? It's just that some many got Australia stock (and thus the Australian Samsung plug)….

      • If its unsealed then I'd be concerned. However I dont know if writing to them is going to achieve much. I wouldnt hold my breath, however at least if after writing to them you get no response you may be able to escalate the matter.
