The Android version is a promo version and any future updates will not be free. To get future updates you will need to purchase the full paid version for $1.99. Requires Android version 2.3.4 or later.

Carmageddon is the original freeform driving sensation, where pedestrians (and cows!) equal points, and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. The game features anarchic drive-wherever-you-like gameplay and over-the-top surreal comedy violence. It’s the racing game where racing is for wimps.

Now the same Mac & PC classic that was BANNED AROUND THE WORLD is back and available on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch!

Carmageddon features real-world environments that have been turned into killing fields, where the locals stay out on the streets at their peril.         Not really because I posted the iOS app as being free. Then it was mentioned to combine the two which makes sense, even if its just to serve as a reminder that the Android version is now available for download.

      No, it appears this specific download is being removed tomorrow. You need to download it to a device today.

      Don't fret though, the game is only like $2, it'll go on special. I did load it up on my HTC Desire Z and it ran like crap, so going to try my Nexus 7 tonight. But based on what I played on my Desire Z the game appears very well done. I'd be happy paying the $2 for it.

    I downloaded the game, and the icon says "promo". Is it any different to the paid version?
    edit I just read the descrption of OP. So future updates require payment for android
    edit2 the full paid version is $1.92 on android

        No. And running down cows is amusing for a day or two, but it can't compare to a game with far better graphics, challenges and multiplayer capability. That's just my opinion, doesn't mean it's right or wrong.

          Running down cows is amusing for a day or two, I agree. But that time I used a giant coil on the front of my car to fling an elephant 200 metres away from me into a moving roller coaster? I still chuckle about that years later.

          The way Mdippa compared it to ridge racer is quite ridiculous. He's obviously under 23 or was deprived as a child so only sees this game for what is it now not the nostalgic value most of us remember..

    My 5 year old son has been playing it on and off. Running people over and then smearing them all over the place with a second run is his favourite thing to do.

    Tonight I'll be teaching him how to field dress wild game, and let him sip my moonshine.

    does not work on my android motorola, blank screen. I was reading some reviews apparently it doesn't work on a number of android phones… maybe they are using us as their beta testers?!

    worked fine on my ios device, not a bad game when it works.

    Can't install it, apparently all my devices are incompatible. I tried Android Market Helper to mimic using another phone or tablet, but so far nothing works.

    EDIT: Just tried the Asus Nexus 7 profile with Market Helper and it installed!

    You need a rooted phone for it to work.

    This promotion sucks and the game is just ok. Will give it more time.

    It's basically a trial. Except if you want to update you lose your progress. Jusy pay the $2.

    Wow great. It brings back great memories.

    Loved part 2 aswell.

    Easy to play aswell on a mobile….. now all we need are ports of diablo and some other great games.
