    good deal.
    in your face, dell.

  • shudder This is the older model HP Mini-note, using the VIA processor instead of the newer Atom processor, which means it will be significantly slower than the current model Mini-notes… especially if it's packing Vista instead of XP!

    Edit: Typo

    • But it still has 2GB RAM so it still should be fast. I have an orginal eeepc without the newer Atom and it runs perfectly fine!

      • I can even run Vista on it!

  • so, just use old good XP.

Great deal. Be better if it was using the VIA nano processor which apparently trumps the Atom. Even the original Dothan CPUs used in the EEE PCs were in some instances faster than the Atom.

  • +Unique screen on this unit.. 1280x768 (nearly all other netbooks are 1024x600). Upcomers Samsung NC20, HP mini 2140 (HD version) & Dell Mini 10 (HD version) will correct that.
-slow C7 processor that is also not battery friendly

    • ASUS to release a touch screen version, though I don't like the keyboards on their < 10" models

  • See earlier deal comments on this 2133 netbook - it runs VERY hot! I linked reviews to the earlier deal.
The new high-res models with Atom might be a better bet.

IMO there are a lot of better deals around. See my blog (click on Bizi above this post) - I have all recent netbook prices listed, e.g. Eee PC 10" for less at OW!

  • Before buying this, have a read about the NEWER netbooks: 10-Inch Netbook Faceoff http://www.laptopmag.com/mobile-life/10-inch-netbook-faceoff… . The Samsung NC10, Lenovo IdeaPad S10, ASUS Eee PC 1000H, MSI Wind and HP Mini 1000 go head-to-head to determine which is the best 10-inch netbook.

Guess who wins their verdict? The Samsung NC10, MSI Wind/S10 second, HP Mini 1000 has "painfully slow" harddisk performance (third) and ASUS 1000H last. MSI Wind U100 for $589 at TECS or Samsung NC10 (import from UK ~$640) are MUCH better value for money. NC10 blitzes other 6-cell netbooks in battery life.

Much discussion on whirlpool about these.
