  • I used to own a Hurom 300. Was a PIA because the exit chute where the pulp came out kept getting clogged up, so I'd have to stop the machine, and then clean it out before I could continue adding more stuff to it.

Didn't matter how slowly I did it, or how long I waited before I put in another fruit/vegetable, it always got clogged up.

    • Sorry to hear about the Hurom 300 not working well for you! Did you contact your seller or the manufacturer for assistance? Sometimes it is just a matter of cutting ingredients into smaller pieces, especially for fibrous vegetables such as celery.

You can check out Hurom's FAQs for tips on optimum juicing http://hurom.com.au/content/faq.php

If you bought the unit from us, we have a 14-day satisfaction guarantee where you can return the juicer for a refund or exchange.

Otherwise, do contact your reseller or the manufacturer to enquire on warranty or assistance, in case the clogging up is a technical issue.

      Hope that helps!

  • I need a juicer.. but boy they are expensive.

    • We specialise in slow juicers and these are generally more expensive than traditional centrifugal juicers. Slow juicers produce higher quality juice and last longer so you'd expect to pay a bit more for them. Our slow juicers are some of the cheapest online so if you ever want to invest in a slow juicer, look for us!

      • By slow, do you mean it also takes longer to extract the juice?

        • It's slow because it operates at less than 200rpm (rotations per minute of the auger or gears) to extract juice, rather than 1000-24000 RPM (rotations per minute of the blades) that traditional centrifugal juicers use to juice.
But though the name implies that it's slow at juicing, it's actually faster and extracts more juice than traditional juicers and produces much drier pulp.
Slow juicers squeeze and crush juice out of fruits and vegetables, whereas traditional juicers spin it against a strainer to push the juice out.

There are a lot of other videos on YouTube comparing slow vs traditional juicers as well.

          Hope that helps :)

The juicer special was $299.40 for JuicePresso and approx $199 for the JuiceBuddy. Regret not getting the JuicePresso from that deal >.<

    • Sorry you missed out, redpump! We had a deal for the Juicepresso for $250 during our launch sale but can no longer do that deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/101138 . We will have really good deals from time to time so do follow us on FB or Twitter to get updated on the latest deals.

      • Wow I wish I can't believe I missed that deal! Oh wells, sticking with my high speed juicer for now

  • If you want a slow juicer. Make sure you get a twin gear one. Cost a lot more but they give a higher yield and better quality juice. Within a year (with daily use) it will pay for the difference in savings on buying less produce.

I am not associated with slowjuicers, in fact the juicer I own is a greenstar twin gear which they don't sell. I have hammered it for nearly a decade and I replaced the gears a year ago when they were showing age and wear - awesome concept.

Just get a twin gear, the others annoying with their waste and as Jumbler says, centrifugal juicers choke easily.

    • Hi ShipShapeRC, thank you so much for sharing that advice. You are correct, the twin gear juicers are much better for juicing and longer lasting.

The Greenstar and the Greenpower twin gear juicers are extremely similar, and you are right they do produce higher yield and much better quality juice. They also do last a lot longer as well and are much more durable however I wouldn't recommend them for everyone as it's a bit harder to clean for daily juicing. However it's perfect for the seriously health conscious people who want pesticide-free juice.

If anyone would like assistance with choosing a juicer we're available on chat on Mondays to Fridays 9am to 5pm or just email us.

      • Yeah they do take a lot longer time to juice that the nasty 50,000 RPM jobbies from the department store. Still if you are going to invest in a slow juicer it will be slower. Also it needs to become a part of your daily lifestyle. I listen to audio books while I juice - nutrition for the body nutrition for the mind too if choose something educational.

    • +2

      agreed

    • Sorry about that, we'll keep that in mind the next time we have a promotion or post something on OzBargain. Our prices are still some of the cheapest online and the FB promotion was to get more fans on Facebook and also to give interested customers an extra discount.
We appreciate your feedback and will definitely keep this in mind the next time we run a deal.

  • Do you guys stock the Oscar Neo??

    • Hi Maz78, we don't have plans to stock this juicer at the moment but have a very, very similar juicer coming in soon, and it will be a lot cheaper than the Oscar Neo. Do follow us on Twitter or Facebook to get updates :)

  • sorry edited.
