JB Hi-Fi 50% off All Blu Ray Movies if You Purcahse a Blu Ray Player

220

Hi Guys

Went into JB hifi Parramatta (outside westfield) today and found they have 50% off Blu rays if you purchase a Blu Ray player. The cheapest I saw was a $99 Sony. I didn't take a picture so I just recycled a picture I found from the last post.

Thanks
Atish

  • Do you reckon this would work with boxed sets?

    • Yes it does apply do box sets also, all blu rays no exception

      • I've been waiting to get the Friends blu ray box set… I don't know if I should go for it now or wait for another 20% off sale.. hmmmmm

        • that depends are you prepared to buy a blu ray player also?

    • Hi
It does include box sets but just keep and eye on it because they dont scan as 50% off you need to remind them of the sale.
and it excludes the true blood tv series.
I bought $200 in blu-ray dvds and tv series.. They had a 2 for $50 tv sereis sale so i only paid 2 for $25 ,, equaling only $12.50 per season

  • 15% computers too

  • I was in store today. The only exception is that you can buy up to 30 titles in one transaction and HBO True Blood is not valid with this promotion. Does anyone know when does this offer end?

    • I asked they said sunday

  • +1

Sales like this reveal the normal markup on BluRay's.

    • +1

or the markup on the blu ray players? cheapest player is like $90?

      • them too…

        oh, JB.

  • Any one want to buy a blu ray player - I'll drive you to the shop :P

    • Return it the next day?

      • +1

Buy the $99 Soniq bluray player and return it without the receipt a week or so later. That way they know it came from a JBHIFI store but they don't know that you bought it during this deal…It could work, not saying I would try it though…

        • Just ask for separate receipts, say you need the blu ray receipt for work for "tax purposes"…

        • +2

Won't work, they'll need them in the same transaction for the promotion to be valid.

  • And they have the offer 3 titles for $20, saw it in the facebook

  • Yay I need a new blu-ray player. Will they accept the deal if i got a blu-ray home theatre?

    • Most likely yes. Go instore and ask.

    • Hey if you get one and you're in Sydney, are you able to get me the Star Wars complete saga bluray for 50%? Been waiting ages to get a decent price for that one.

    • Yeah, a sign in-store said it includes blu ray home theatre, portable blu ray players and PS3 consoles.

  • It's on the back page of the new JB catalogue.
"Savings off ticketed prices, same transaction, limit 30 titles per customer. This offer is not in conjunction with any other offer & must be purchased separately. Excludes Blu ray buy one get one free promotion and HBO true blood promotion."

    • What does "must be purchased separately" mean?

      • It means it must be purchased separately to any other stuff that's on another promotion that's not part of this promotion. So you can only buy the blu-ray player and blu-ray movies as the one transaction in the one order and nothing else on other promotions with it.

And yes i saw the banner saying 30 blu-ray limit at the front of JB HI-FI on tuesday. Wondered what it meant. Still 30 blu-rays is still a lot.

  • For someone who wants a quality player without network capability, which of the bunch is the best? The Panasonic for $118?

  • Would this include the PS3?

    • I doubt it.

    • If you click the link online, it presents a range of players. I'm assuming this is what you can select from.

    • Yeah, a sign in-store said it includes blu ray home theatre, portable blu ray players and PS3 consoles.

    • Yes.There was the 50% off blu-rays signs stuck on the ps3 display boxes.

  • Online there is a Soniq 3D version for $79.

  • Is this promotion available anywhere else in Australia?

  • Anyone know if any of the players are region free for both DVD and Blu Ray?

    • +1

Toshiba BDX3200KY comes to mind but if you can still find one being sold any where.

Just the fact that JB HI-FI no longer sells any BD region switchable blu-ray players.

Hey also i remember the Laser BLU-BD1000 blu-ray player is region free DVD and also region switchable blu-ray. $79 from The Good Guys.

  • I heard they give you a voucher when you buy a player. This right?
So does that mean you don't necessarily have to buy both in one go (blu-rays and player at the same time)?

  • Great deal, got 99$player and $650worth of blurays down to $350ish :) good result…

The $99 BDP-S1100 has network with a few good movie apps like iView etc
