  • cheapest i saw was 1398 from electrical discounter, must be a new drop I've been looking for a while but settled on a samsung last week because of the active 3d

    • +2

Hmm.. all the side by side reviews I have read on 3D TV's favour passive over active, so I am only looking at passive brands.

Do you mind if I ask what factors swayed you to active ?

    • How much was the Sammy

  • +1

Damn its plasma but still a sweet deal i have noticed there is not a lot of deals for TVs at the moment.

    • all new models so the pricing wont appear very good compared to last season clearance…..the price on this tv is crazy for this time of year , I would almost say its a pricing error

    • Plasma > LED.

Even if it is LG (yuck).

  • I was considering mounting on the wall and I've read there can be issues with the 3d depth if your not sitting level with the tv and directly in front. I had been looking for months always waiting for the better deal , looking at hundreds of reviews. My friend has the last years Lm 9600 Led and he loves it. I did check out the Ph6700 in Dick Smith and it looked great and the price is definitely right for this deal. What really made me pull the trigger was that my old tv finally died

  • How much better does a Samsung PS60E8000 compare to this one? Would it worth about an extra $650?

    • The 8000 is a LOT better, and has a big following. If you can afford the extra $$, definitely worth it!

    • ive just been through three 60e8000 in the last month and that is why im tv shopping;

the buzzing on this set is ridiuclous, just hope if you buy one, you a) get lucky and get one of the infamous units without buzz or b) buy it from somewhere with a good return policy

      • So you actually bought one home and got two exchange units? Where did you buy it from? It seems they got good return policy. I actually have bought one during the weekend and watched it for two nights and did notice the buzz sound. Currently, i am still trying to make up my mind whether i should put up with it or do something. I am afraid it could mean a lot of trouble :(

        • Yep first one came from Appliances online, day i opened it i was furious about the buzz, called samsung up to get a reference number for reporting fault then called them up they had no stock to replace so it got picked up that weekend and refund processed within a week, then went to HN and haggled their floor price down to the same price i got it from appliances online, it got delivered same issue, thought it was better at first (which it was from the sides) but when sitting directly infront of the tv it was twice as bad, went back to HN and after 2nd unit they notified me they had no stock as well… basically the guy told me you have 14 days to report it as a faulty unit, so if i were you id get on it quick smart…

        • Hard to find the model still for sale now as well.

  • Is this active or passive 3d?

  • The lg is active sorry got confused with all the tvs I looked at( Its the led versions that are passive) . Funnily The ps60e8000 is the one I bought, I ended up getting a factory second for 1285 and a extended warranty for just under $1600 with two paris of glasses + same day delivery( this was when i was comparing the price of 1598 for the ph6700) last week

How does this Plasma go with watching hours and hours of Fox Sports with out changing channels. The Fox Sports logo is a solid one.

    • That hasn't been an issue for a long time. Lol. No, there's no problem.

    also curious

    Mate..$946 is for 50 inch TV not 60 inch…..60 is seeling for $1576 :(
BTW Good duys was willing to do it for $925 for 50PH6700

    • agree.. wrong price. no deal here

  • hi, how do you get it for $946? is there a coupon code? the site comes up as $1,576.30 =(

  • That's just been changed, must have been a pricing error

  • It is gone i guess.

  • +1

Price has been changed… mugs. Work mate was contemplating getting this as well!

  • Pricing Error?

  • Did anyone jump on it, great deal if they did

  • +2

My and my brother each bought one. See what happens.

    • We got the email saying it was a misprice. They offered $1346. Not sure what to do.

  • Live help said

"Unfortunately we had a pricing error with this product as it was priced at the 50PH6700 price. We have now switched it back to the correct amount. I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this!"

  • I asked what happends to people who bought the TV for $946

"If you have ordered it our manager is actually contacting customers privately about this. If you send me the contact number or email address that you used, I can get our manager to contact you immediately if you like?"

Dont they by law need to give you the TV at the price you paid

    • Dont they by law need to give you the TV at the price you paid.

      No, they made a mistake.

      • In the terms and condition of the website 2.3,
"We shall accept your order by e-mail confirmation. That is when our contract is made. Our message will also confirm details of your purchase and tell you when we shall despatch your order. "

I think if you have placed and paid the order(an offer) and they have sent you a confirmation(acceptance of offer), that forms a contract. By contract law, they should give you the TV at the contract price.

    • Dont they by law need to give you the TV at the price you paid

I can just imagine Gerry Harvey having a good ol' chuckle while reading that comment
