Good prices possible. However, booking a very long time in advance.

$200 return for 2 people MEL-PER very tempting though (after Jetstar price beat of course).

    • You may struggle to get a price beat on this offer though as the $1 return only applies if booked as a return trip. Jetstar reps look for fares online to price beat on a per sector basis unfortunately.

      • In my experience, Jetstar won't beat the BOGOF flights as they cannot 'beat' a free flight. $1 is beatable though. This one should be fine for price beating.

        • Just tried to price beat a Sydney to Melbourne flight return now and they wouldn't accept it. They check against direct flights only, so the one dollar return obviously won't appear on their search.

Tiger may not be around in 2014 rofl

If they wound up, what's going to happen to my booking then?

You may not be around in 2014 either. LMAOROFLGATOR

    • Ask Virgin

    • It's a well known fact that Tigers are becoming extinct. Too far out to put my money on this number, when I tried to price match with Jetstar their computer baulked at the return price of $1. The CR did give a reason, but by then I'd lost interest anyway.

  • I'm going home now - see you !

  • That's what I would pay to fly tiger anyway

OP do you have a vested interest in ozbargain?

  • "offer excludes travel on Friday or Sunday"

In the case of Adelaide to Melbourne and back, it also includes Monday, March 10th (Adelaide cup public holiday)

And as usual… an infant is still $30. They don't provide a chair, a bassinet or anything for an infant… but it's $30. It's beyond me.

    • Is the infant still $30 for the way back - or $1?

Infants should be banned from flying anyway >_>

Not like many people laughing at, I don't think Tiger has worse on-board service nor safety (at least to let passengers to feel) than Jetstar or Virgin.

The difference comes from Check-in. Tiger's Check-in ask you to be there 45 mins prior to the flight strictly, without web check-in system.

I couldn't watch the 2nd half of A-League match Melbourne Heart v Sydney FC early this year, if it was Jetstar then I might watch the full game…

Smart offer. Tiger is counting on people booking seven months ahead and when the time comes to travel not being able to make the flight due to change of plans. Extra fees to change the booking, or they get to keep the money and resell the ticket to someone else.

Don't think that's a fair comment, most airline sales are for travel perods in advance.

      • Indeed they are, as no airline launches sales for the next few weeks or next month. But seven to nine months away is a fairly long minimum time period. Tiger practices overbooking and does sometimes bump people off flights. They may be counting on a few passengers per flight who book nine months in advance to not show up for the flight.

        • I suspect it's a desperate throw of the dice, with their servicing record many people wouldn't fly Tiger even if it were $1 each way, I would so my preference would be to pricematch with Jetstar, but they rejected to do it on a gimmick price of $1. Perhaps Tiger knew that, so instead of offering special half price return fares they've done it this way.
