Masters - very poor replacement/refund policy

We tried to return a faulty item back to Masters.
Firstly, I was told they think I used the machine wrong and its my fault.
Then gave me the support phone number for the manufacturer and asked me to deal with it there.

Basically, they had no interest in it and were very rude to me (putting it back on me that it's my fault).

Our company buys about $5k per quarter from Bunnings so I will continue to shop there.
I do not recall ever having a problem with Bunnings with faulty items.

Anyone else had such poor service from Masters

Bunnings are excellent with exchanges / refunds.

  • I bought a heater last July from masters northland, 2 weeks ago it stopped working. Took it back to masters box hill sth and got a refund no problems, so I'm very happy with their policy.

But it's definitely not good form to try and palm you off to the manufacturer, pretty such that's against accc rules where the retailer is responsible for fixing problems.

  • i've had no troubles returning stuff to bunnings, even stuff i've opened. i get the feeling they don't think they even care.

what was the machine and how was it incorrectly used? palming off the warranty issues to the manufacturer is illegal, although it doesn't hurt to ring them and see what they have to say.

    Did you?
