For anyone interested, this is NOT "complete".

On 24 dvd's you wouldn't expect it to be. 360 episodes is a lot and it's a great price but don't get your hopes too high because what you want likely isn't actually included. Read the fine print and don't get burnt, ok? :)

    • +4

Could you give us more info? Not saying you're wrong, I'm just curious as to what's not included and what you meant by "what you want likely isn't actually included".

    • +2

Who cares it's not complete - it's an awesome price. It's not as if you need to see all eps to make sense of the show :)

      • Who cares? Completists care, that's who.

      • Eh? I SAID that mate :) It's a great price. And it's ok that its not complete… but in some instances you may be disappointed! Eg: If you like Pepe le=pew or foghorn leghorn. Or even if you want more than half the bugs bunny episodes. Look at my new post below for info.

    • I'm curious to know specifically what's missing that you think we'll notice?

    • Now that's what you call a baragin.

        @ all the responses above:

        http://www.amazon.com/Looney-Tunes-Golden-Collection-1-6/dp/…

It took me a long time to get through this set and after cataloguing and cross referencing every film heretofore collected, I have sadly come to the realization that this is NOT an omnibus. There are over 1000 Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts that were made throughout the golden age. That means that this collection represents roughly ONE THIRD of all WB cartoons from the era. This set provides a little over HALF of the Bugs Bunny cartoons created, and he is the most well represented character here. We only get FIVE Foghorn Leghorn cartoons, and only THREE Pepe Lepews. That means that BOSKO the Talk-Ink Kid (anyone remember him?) is better represented here than Foghornn and Pepe. That is very disappointing. Now i understand there are a number of toons that WB refuses to release because of racial sensitivity, but that number is very small (11 to be exact). I also understand that there are additional DVDs outside this set that collect additional toons from the aforementioned characters. (like the superstar collections) However, the availability of these cartoons is far from comprehensive, with just under half of all toons available on DVD. The 1960s are especially neglected in this set. Only 18 of the nearly 150 toons from that decade are accounted for here. To make matters even more hopeless, WB has started releasing the Blu-Ray Platinum Collection, which feature not only the same toons we got in the Golden Collection, but FEWER FILMS PER VOLUME! That means the chances of us getting a definitive series even less.

        • Good post, thanks for the info :)

        • Wow, +1 for effort (you adorable freak!).

        • Christ the top comment in that amazon us link is epic, i've copied it & i'm going to follow the watching order he suggests when I get this set, and hunt down the list of missing stuff in the future. Cheers

Orders are being cancelled for this product as it was apparently a pricing error.. No deal unfortunately.. :(

  • +3

At over 40 hours of looney tunes it is an awesome deal.

  • +3

    Like bugs first movie etc

    • -6

not sure if serious or trolling..

      • +4

Sorry didnt mean anything buy it, im serious as I use to love them

        • +1

N/m for some reason I thought you asked about bugs life, oops

        • *A Bug's Life not included, sold separately.

  • Dies it have the original duck dodgers and its sequel (not the tv show). Those 2 episodes are easily my favourite and bugs bunny isn't even the star when he is my favourite.

  • +5

Here's a list of all the shorts included (click on each volume heading for the complete list for each one): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Looney_Tunes_Golden_Collection

  • great deal, my son can watch this. Thanks

  • Ordered thanks with my UK bank card.

  • Great post, thanks so much

  • +7

Wow, this should keep my kid quiet and by the time he finishes watching this,, he'll be 18.

  • Purchased, Thank You. My nieces will love it.

  • +1

Couldn't resist such a bargain, thanks.

    • +2

Annnnd cancelled. Did not expect that from Amazon.

  • This will be great for my boys, thanks OP

    "Kill the rabbit!"

  • Thanks OP, can't wait to introduce Looney Tunes to my kids. Much better than some of the weird children's shows on tv these days.

  • FYI, if you purchase in AUD with Amazon's rate, they charge 1 GBP = 1.6288573257 AUD. Depending on what card you use, you can get a better rate than on offer at Amazon.

edit: the difference will only be ~30-50 cents, so not much.

  • My kids are going to love this! Thanks :)

  • great deal ; only if they sold it on a usb disk.

  • +1

    Just ordered.

    Thanks for posting…

You have no idea how long I've been searching for such a collection; including many hours at dvd vendors in Phuket/Bangkok… Only to find they have a very limited selection.

    THANKS!!!!!!!!

P.S. Feel in love with them originally when they were on the beginning of Warner Bros Movies (ie Free Whilly, and can't wait to see them all)!

  • +2

Yay, I use to always buy the VHS when I was a kid (until my VCR jammed up and spat it out along with the film strip) and also wake up every Saturday morning to watch this.

    • +2

Saturday Disney FTW! when we were younger, not the current crop of shows they have on….

      • +2

Tail Spin, Goof Troop and Duck Tails!

Not the tween sitcoms they have on now. Disney has just become a platform to train future whorebags (both actors and viewers).

        • Add Darkwing Duck & Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers to the list!

  • +1

    Comes to A$14.78 using current conversion rate - £5.83 + £3.58 delivery.

  • +5

    awesome impulse purchase :)

  • Its £7 now?

    • That is the price, yeah. Convert that to AUD and add shipping costs (since shipping isn't free to Australia) and you get ~$16.

    • On checkout it is £5.83, due to no tax I think

      • Haha… had this page open for like 10 minutes, and I beat you to reply by a second XD

  • Just ordered too, awesome deal, thanks loads OP…

  • ordered 2. thanks op

    • Interestingly that ebay listing claims it's region 2/4 and it ships from the UK, i'm hoping amazons is the same and will play anyway otherwise will have to convert the PC drive to region 2 I guess.

  • just ordered too… awesome deal… thanks OP!

  • Thanks op! Nieces will love this

  • Thanks just ordered, awesome bargain right there.

  • At a rough guess what % of DVD players out there would play Region 2 / are region free in Australia?

I'd like to buy for my nephew/niece but am not sure if they'd be able to play it in their little portable DVD players, DVD players at holiday houses, etc.

    • +1

Ah well, ordered. At this price, who cares?! OZB spirit FTW.

  • Ordered x 4

  • +2

    Great!
Ordered for grandson - he may as well learn violence from an early age :-)

    • Now Amazon has cancelled it.

Glad I did not tell anyone that I had ordered it.

      Pretty poor.

  • Ordered!! Excellent deal :-)

  • Ridiculous price! Great shows. I already have 4 of the 6 sets, but the kids love them so I am getting this just to "top up" the series. Great deal!

  • +1

Anyone seen the new series. It actually isn't that bad. Completely different, it's basically a sitcom with bugs and daffy living together.

    • yeah it's pretty well written for a kids' show. it sometimes reminds me of seinfeld.

  • Got one as well. Thanks, OP.

But this is a crazy price. I noticed that Amazon has 18 new sets and 2 used sets.
How can I be sure they will send the new box pack?

    • The 18 New and 2 Used are referring to the number of sellers selling the item. Not stock on hand.
Unless you click on the "used" link and buy from those listed, you will be sent a brand new one from Amazon.

  • Will they play on Xbox 360 or PS3? being they are region 2

    • not unless you have a UK ps3 or Xbox

    • +1

region 2/4 is pretty much the same. I have a ton of region 2 dvds and never encountered one that wont play.

Cant say for sure though (disclaimer)

  • +10

Wish it came with Sophie Lee hosting … showing my age now!

    • +2

      That's not all you're showing.

  • Awesome deal.. thank you!

  • +1

FYI, any recent dvd player and any bluray player, as far as i know, should be 100% region free for dvds. What I believe happened was the accc got involved, and said region locking was anti competitive. I have two samsung and a pioneer blu ray player all bought locally and can play region locked dvds.

    • +1

      Define recent.. 2 years?

    • +3

The Copyright Amendment Act 2006 allows for the modification of DVD players to enable them to play DVDs from different countries. The Act does not control the sale of DVD players, require region-free DVD players to be made available, or require an unlock to be made available.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that most Australian DVD players were region-free a few years ago but vendors are now starting to reintroduce it on Blu-ray players.

      Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/computers/blogs/gadgets-o…

      • Yeah it looks like my bluray player needs a $20 coded remote to unlock it region 2, hopefully the discs will play on region 4 anyway but if they don't I think I can change my PC dvd drive to region 2 and use that since the PC is hooked up to the TV anyway and I don't use that dvd drive for much else.

        • +1

If you don't want to change the region on the drive permanently, you could use DVDFab Passkey. The free version will let you watch any region. I think there is a similar software from slysoft, but I'm unsure if its free.

        • +1

Slysoft = anydvd and anydvd hd (both cost $).

  • Fantastic deal, thanks a lot!

  • whats up doc?

  • +1

    Bought.

    Thanks heaps OP.

    GBP 5.83 (no VAT) + GBP 3.58 (postage) = GBP 9.41.

  • same price as frecklenuts. shows gbp7 but charged less. happy, thx op;)

Just received an email from Amazon:

    Hello,

We are pleased to report that the following item will dispatch sooner than expected:

"Looney Tunes - The Complete Golden Collection (Volumes 1-6) [DVD]"
    Previous estimated arrival date: June 14 2013 - June 22 2013
    New estimated arrival date: June 10 2013 - June 11 2013

    • That's nifty, I just placed my order :) That is quite a lot sooner

    • Maybe because they got 100+ orders from OzBargaineers they're sending a bulk delivery :)

  • Caved and bought one…for the kid of course.

  • Expired, price back up to GBP38.30

  • Damn, already got one but was planning on going back for a second. Great deal!

  • My order seems to have completely disappeared from Amazon. I got the auto-confirmation email last night but now all traces of the order have gone from my Amazon account.

    Anyone else have this problem?

    • Same here strangely enough. Oh well, I'm sure Amazon will sort it out.

      • I just sent them a message so we'll see what they say but just from googling the problem it seems like they may have canceled the order (I new it was to good to be true lol)
