  • Just to add: looking at the, fiio E17

    comments?

  • If you're comparing between the E10 and the E17, obviously E17 because it's portable unlike the E10 which is a desktop one. But, I think in general, desktop ones are better than portables.
I have the E7 which is pretty much the pre-model of the E17 which I think is actually quite good. The accessories that come with it are nice too.
Note that the E7, E10 and E17 are all USB DAC amps. So if you're really after only a portable amp, maybe go for the E11 or E12?

    • Thanks mate. Do you notice a big difference?

  • Hi, could someone please explain this to me. I was gifted a DT250 80 ohms recently and use it through my desktop at home through audio jack. I dont find them as good. Would a portable amp like this help?

    Also how does connection work?

My current setup is line out from logitech 2.1 to desktop and Dt250 line into the logitech. pic below.
    any help is appreciated.

    • Yes a million times, plug an amp directly through USB and then plug your headphones to it.

      • Thanks for the reply. I will buy this

  • I swear when I read this I first thought; Attention Pedophiles. How I ended up in here? Who knows lol

  • To be honest, the TMA-1's are fine without an amp.

    • They just dont sound crisp running from my phone.

I read some editer reviews on head fi..

They said this model in particular is suprisingly scalable for an amp and when used they "blow out through the stratosphere". Sounds promising to me.

Starting off with a $30 fiio e6 from dx.com, will see how that goes when it arrives. Might get a proper dac after. Fiio e17 when it goes on sale (hopefully) at mp4nation again.

Thanks fo all the comments, appreciate it.
