    For 0.39 shipped, why not? I remember the happiness when I was a little boy and my dad gave me a compass. Hope my son will enjoy it the same way.

      Most kids would prefer to use the compass app on your mobile phone but at this price probably worth a punt.

      although it's probably not balanced for Australia it will still work. The needle/disc might scrape and take longer to settle, but it will still point in the general direction of north (which is all you'd expect from a compass like this).

    works once u shake it a few times and point in a a general north direction. sort of like a magic eight ball - tell me which way is north.
    was hoping to put it keep it on the keyring.
