I needed a new umbrella! Thanks OP!

      The red ones are faster.

      • Faster to put away - because of too much unwanted attention?

Wanted to grab a black one but I guess a red one ain’t bad to add some colour.

Now I understand.. will tell the missus to stop wearing red lingerie

    • See how long these umbrellas last.

These are flimsy tiny umbrellas that you keep in your bag for an unexpected downpour.

They will blow inside-out with a puff of wind and wont keep you totally dry due to thier very small size.

But as an emergency shelter against a shower you wont be complaining.

Bear in mind, the black one is only $6

I got a couple of these last month for my share the dignity bags. Amazing price

    • How is the quality of these things?

They feel ok or terribly cheap crap?

      • +2

Seems the same as every basic umbrella. I assume they will get lost quickly so I don’t tend to spend a lot on them

      • +2

"Emergency use only" may be the best way to describe them as long as you dont get caught using them in a wind.

They are light and tiny so good to keep in your bag for an unexpected downpour.
        But……
        They are flimsy
They dont provide adequate rain cover
They will blow inside-out and break very easily

They are definitely not your "go-to" uimbrella under normal circumstances

Once you go Blunt, you won't go back. Hands down the best umbrella you'll have for a very very long time.

    • +4

I disagree. The average joe doesn't have umbrellas for a "very very long time"…
The average joe leaves them in places they don't recall and needs a new one after only 3-4 uses.

      • Yeah, admittedly I left one Blunt on a Melbourne train once. That hurt!

        • +1

          Did you?
          I was lucky that day!
Best umbrella. Too expensive to leave behind.

I have a blunt I like a lot, but my kids will do better with $3 umbrellas so I won't freak out when they lose them.

    • Had to actually Google this, wasn't sure the type of Blunt that was being discused.

    Junk manual

  • 3 years warranty.

First time ever seeing warranty on an umbrella

Under what circumstance to claim warranty?

    • +1

Shelta brand has a warranty, probably others too. Like most warranties it covers faults in the manufacture or materials. If it blows apart in a cyclone you might have trouble getting your $3 back…

    • +3

Like you buy a manual umbrella but it opens automatically.

  • Just got one to keep in my work bag for emergencies only. How likely are they to honour the warranty should the umbrella stop working??

    • I would say extremely likely. If you show up with a busted a umbrella and a receipt I am sure they will give you your $3 back.

Cheapest umbrellas are in that basket by the front door…

    • And if you take one at the end of a dry week, you can feel confident you're not stealing anyone's intended umbrella and leaving them stuck in the rain. Just make sure and mime an "oh my lost umbrella!" expression when you take one out.

I have blunt umbrellas but could not help myself buy a cheap $3 one for the kids.

Plenty of stock for C+C, SA Trinity Gardens

  • How do these hold up against the Melbourne winds and the Melbourne wind + rain combo?

  • 45 of these or one Blunt?

    • How often do you lose your umbrella?
