  Even better - read the book, then don't watch the movie because Baz Luhrmann is terrible.

  But yeah, it was one of the reasons they extended copyright terms; it wont be public domain until 2021… even though Fitzgerald has been dead for almost 75 years.

      I haven't read the book, but I really enjoyed the movie and didn't get all the hate for it (though it seems it mostly people that hated the "modern" music).

        the movie is spectacular, a visual treat and I would go as far to say it is a masterpiece for Baz

    Watch the original movie instead with Robert Redford as Gatsby.

  I was made to read it in High School. Our teacher thought that F.Scott Fitzgerald was super great. I could never figure out why. I like reading, but not that kind of stuff.

  I've not see the latest film version but does Baz Luhrmann ever do anything that is not L O N G and 2nd class?
