  • Good deal, I guess. Never could get why people pay for "branded" flip flops though. I only ever wear them on the beach (and in the garden/balcony) anyway.

Btw, saw those in Costco Melbourne for around the same price too. Workmanship seems lower quality than what I remember.

    • Fashion = Brands, Trendy Thongs = Havianna's, its just how it is…

That said these black pairs are hard to see the brand, kinda like wearing the pony shirts without the pony, whats the point!

      • +1

Ive had a pair of these for about 1.5 yrs now. Well worth the $20. Took them overseas too.

        • +1

I've had my $2.48 big W ones for a couple of years, too.

        • +2

dont believe you.. all my cheap ones break within 1 week of use.

          pathetic quality

    • I never understood why people bought branded thongs either. I wear thongs a lot in summer (most days outside of work), and so I bought a pair cheap to see what the fuss was about.

Yes, some people buy them because of the brand. Good for them. I don't think anyone here cares about that haha. But after I bought one pair, I have only bought more of this brand. They are freakin' sturdy and long lasting. I still have the first pair I bought ~4 or 5 years ago, and while they are a bit worn they aren't dead yet.

So I grab a pair when they're on sale every now and then (so $10-$15) and now have a few different colours of thongs lying around (car, caravan, etc). Does me just fine!

  • Here's hoping they actually arrive. There's been a few dodgy havianna deals on group but sites over the last couple of years…

Are these any better that the Target Essentials product?

    • +1

      Nope

      • "Nope"

There's quite a few other comments here that indicate that the product is better than Target Essentials. Given their provision of reasoning, and your lack of any, I think I will try a pair and see for myself.

Havaianas are crap. they are not well made and fall apart after a month or so.

    • +12

My three pairs have lasted for years…

    • +5

Are they dealing with excessive weight??

      • Mine deal with excessive weight (ok, not a hippo or anything but still) and have lasted so many years I can't remember when I got them.

    • +1

2 and a half years out of my last pair, with daily use.

      • Oh yeah, if anyone can name a shoe or sandle to compare for price : longevity, speak now. Havaianas are just awesome.

  • Hmm they do not have my size 48 :(

Anyone bought from this site before? Reputable?

    • personally bought from here, and came in about a 5 business days

Nothin beats the ol' double pluggers

  • +1

I wear havis because they're rubber and they come in nice colours, not because of brand. Originally they lasted ages but lately the plugs break off in a few months. Apparently they moved production to china but not sure if this is true or not. Cant buy double pluggers in brisbane and the cheap ladies ones eg. from kmart/target have plastic straps that dig in. Have tried other rubber ones but the soles get really slippery so have kept buying havis and now have a pile with broken front plugs. Might make a thong tree lol :-) any other good brands anyone can suggest?

    • any other good brands anyone can suggest?

get ipanema, they're still made in Brazil and last for ages… always buy one size down from your shoes size for a perfect fit or you'll have those deadly thongs that trip you up. 90% of people don't wear their correct size.

    • For use around home etc get a bread wrapper, tag thingy and put that on the bottom, saves throwing otherwise good thongs out.

  • If you search that site, there are other colours available but I found nothing in 47/48 size. On the Havanas Australian website that size is available.

  • Question:

What's so special about Havaianas flip-flops?
Ok, so everyone raves about Havaianas and how awesome they are. But is it just that they're fashionable or is there really a difference, something special about them which other flip-flops don't have?

    Answer:

nup, probably even made in the same factory as all the other flip-flops. i dont have havainas and i was just wearing normal black flip flops and the only difference is that there was no havvianas written on it and a friend was like, "wtf why are you wearing THOSE they arent havainanas!!!, people are gonna think your poor or sumthing" you cant even freeking tell the difference unless you read what it says, and do people really go around reading the 'haviana' word on things? nope… :)

    Linky :)

That's just one answer by someone unknown from a Yahoo forum, hardly authoritative. And it wasn't even the nominal "Best Answer", not that that means much.

Here is another link. It's even from someone who seems to have a Trustworthy rating (a small one anyway :) )

I am finding this website very difficult to navigate. I cannot find any Havaianas at all that i can add to card, and there is no search option on the site! does someone have a link that i can use?

    • +3

Seems they're out of stock. Nothing shows up when you select Havainas under the "Brands" category

    • I found them this morning but it looks like someone has edited the home page of the product.

Don't know if it helps but here is a few pages from my history.

      Edit:
Removed the direct links as it seems they are not for sale. I just received a refund through Paypal.

alright mr Rep, I too cannot figure out how to order one, let alone find the proper size..I cant even find Havainas brand in the footwear…am really tempted to neg this (which I rarely do)… are we required to Register first? if so, that would be lame since other online sites allow you to browse/order as a visitor only, then you only have to register once you want to pay…

    • Hmmmm … I think I just received a clue only seconds ago. The page has been edited and the items are not available now. Text from the email received ………

    • "alright mr Rep…."

There is no "mr Rep". But now I read the OP's name more carefully, I wonder why I ever considered this deal at all :)

      • ooops my mistake on the Rep thing, read it wrong..although I do hope their Rep reads this..

  • Yeah i just received an order cancellation as well. The Paypal Note said "item not available". :(

  • I guess we should give the store credit for at least refunding immediately, no games nor delays.

  • think there sold out, probably why the link isn't working

    core clothing are duds

    • Geez, the comments directly above yours would have told you that they are sold out.

      • Calm down princess, they were posted a whole 3 minutes apart. You'll be right.

        • Seems you don't read either. The prior half dozen comments were over the period of 45 mins or more.

  • I purchased this as soon as the deal went up on Ozbargain, and got a refund an hour ago? wtf…

    • Same here :(

  • same as every one else.. payed for then rufund

    • And got personal details grabbed?

I was thinking to buy one, but the fake thongs experience on topbuy stopped me from doing that. This seems even worse.

  • Mine hasn't been cancelled…. yet(?).

  • Orders a payout and received least Friday.

  • Got mine today.
