I know they were a bit cheaper at David Jones over Christmas but this is still a really good price. I've had a look around and no where else seems to have them for under $399

The sharpener is essential though… I have found they do need it often. Got my set in 2004 and other than losing one small knife in the transit to Oz they are still in daily use too.
Is it the ceramic sharpener on their site that you're referring to?

Thanks OP… Picked up a set from Chermside today and on joining their 'club', received an additional $15 voucher to use on my next purchase.
I bought these knives 10 years ago…yes before the MasterChef endorsements.
Together with the Global recommended sharpener, the knives are as good as the first day.
One of the best investments I have ever made in the kitchen.
Highly recommended knives.
