Yes! Been waiting for this :)
I know I'll die sooner but this just tastes so damn good.

    • Why would you sooner?

      • Hmm, well it's pretty good for your health…

      • Why would you sooner?

        it's a statistical fact

        • Hmm. Can you tell I didn't proofread that?

      • It has like 50% RDI of your salt intake in such a small meal, so if you include your meals for the whole day you're going to go over -> increased risk of hypertension.

        http://www.nutritionaustralia.org/national/frequently-asked-…

        • RDI sodium is 1g, but that doesn't mean that going over that will increase your risk of HTN. The RDI is basically the mininum you will need for survival, you can go over the RDI up to around 8g Na per day and still be fine.

          disclaimer;not a doctor etc

        • Hmm that's true, going over the RDI doesn't guarantee you'll have an increased risk of hypertension, but excessive salt consumption (5-6 times the RDI) as often seen in western diets, for example, US and Aus, has an overwhelming amount of research relating it to hypertension.

Hang on. Where did you find this? On the top left of page 5 of the 32 pages in the catalogue, they show a 5 pack of Indomie at $2.00.

Did you misread it or am I looking in the wrong place? Might need to revoke my pos!

Just some good old regional pricing.. $2 in Vic and NSW, $1.47 in SA.

      • +2

53 cents go to medicare levy for VIC

        • +2

No, they need to be cheaper in SA to compete against the dominant pie floater market

        • +3

          dominant pie floater

looks like something my dog did earlier…

          That looks f***ing disgusting :S

  • Add some vegie and a couple of fried eggs and it makes a complete healthy meal.

    • I dunno about it being a healthy meal. lol.
Just don't put any more salt on the other foods that you have for the day and you won't exceed the RDI for Salt…..

There is a lot more bad stuff that goes into Indo Mie/Instant noodles, e.g. massive amount of MSG, preservatives, saturated fats and high salt content.

Yes it tastes good (prob the cause of MSG), same with any food, if you have too much of it, then it is bad for you. Indo Mie is one of those "once in awhile" type foods, but most people who buy it would eat it 4-5 times a week…. and usually 2-3 packs at a time.

  • $2 is no deal.

  • How much is shipping from SA to VIC ???

  • Great price for SA. Average for the rest.

  • Does anyone in Melbourne want to do a group buy from SA ?

I'm thinking of hiring a van and driving across the border… Just doing the sums at the moment…

    • Load it up with cans and bottles to subsidise the trip. 10c a pop.

  • I have read news from asia some country already ban this noodle… I don't think it's good idea to have it everyday !
