This is a bargain for GoT fans considering season 1 & 2 (Blu-ray) alone cost $40-$45 each from JB Hi-Fi at the moment.
It's really worth watching, as well, if you can stomach bit of blood, guts and sex.

Going from the current popularity and the way they are following the books I wouldn't be surprised if there are 8 seasons before they catch up the Martins writings, by then he should have at least half of the 6th book written so that's another 2 seasons.
Hopefully when they do release a complete collection we can enjoy it in 4k, this could well be the only show that's worthy of such treatment.

The perfectionist in me cannot buy a season 1-3 blu ray when there's more seasons to come. It will look dirty on my shelf..
Is it me or do these deals never come up as DVDs anymore? I don't own a Blueray player and don't plan to getting on in the near future as I don't mind the quality of DVDs and don't think the upgrade is necessary. (Plus I don't want to re buy all the doctor who dvds I have again :P)
Don't all Blu-Ray players play DVDs anyway? That should allow you to be able to watch all your classic DVDs still (just reminded me that I haven't watch my favourite LOTK series DVD for ages :-( )
I was like you until I got a blu ray player cheap. They don't cost much and you can still watch all your old discs. Worth a little bit more imo for the much superior vision and audio quality.

Only someone who hasn't experienced bluray would think the upgrade isn't necessary ;) If you've got a big TV and a good surround system it's definitely worthwhile.

Watched the whole season, it was a little bit slow. I expected more to happen. I think they deviated from the books (iirc) in their story line as i think someone was killed too early.
I would say definitely wait for season 4 before you buy the set, but its up to you

I think people are upvoting this purely because they like the show. There isn't really a bargain here - there isn't even a set release date.

On another note, Season 1 can be had for <$35 when on sale at JB Hifi (e.g. their 10% off blu ray sale), and I bought GoT season 2 for $45 from there too.

Have you seen what they are charging for the current blu rays for season 1 and 2? This is most certainly a bargain.
