  • Hmm, what am I missing? Isn't this the better deal? Or is this more of an ongoing thing..

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/913037 - Stan Premium + Stan Sport for $9.99/Mo for Eligible Optus Customers until 8/1/26

    • +2

This one is only if you're an Optus customer eg. On a mobile plan, etc. whereas the OP one is if you were only an Optus Sports subscriber.

      • I cancelled my Optus Sport a couple of weeks before the Stan announcement and I was still able to get the $9.99/month

        • +1

The new offer is for some who are Optus customers (Eg. Prepaid) and not eligible for Subhub (billing customers). For those who are eligible for Subhub, other offers may be available.

        • @chromium Are you an Optus customer?

Edit: I wasn't able to get the $9.99 offer as I'm not an Optus Customer, even my Missus' old Optus account login didn't let her join, as a message popped up stating that she needed to be on a plan/contract before she could access SubHub.

  • Does anyone know about any offers for former Optus Sport customers (not with an Optus mobile) who now have to transition to Stan?

    • +1

This is the only one I'm aware of ($25 p/mth until Jan 2026) … I'm still contemplating whether I'll take up the Stan offer.

Just wish that it was a separate subscription, as I'm only interested in the EPL & not movies or shows!

There's 10 days to go before the EPL kicks off, so knowing me, I'll probably do it a few minutes beforehand! 😂

      • Let me know If join can split costs further.

  • Does Stan+sport support family sub?

    • +1

Yep premium has 4 streams , I'm also keen to join a fam on this deal.

I’ve gone Peacock US via VPN on my Chromecast 4K. Easy to download the app on that vs on my Apple TV.

    $10.99USD a month or $109.99USD per year.

Having to turn the VPN on to watch is slightly annoying, but worth it IMO.

    • Unfortunately you'll find they don't have all the games.

      • +1

That’s a really good point, sorry!

About half the games are live and half on a 1 day delay.

    • See if your VPN supports split tunnelling. That way you can choose which apps to route through the vpn (or exclude). This only works with Android TV devices so far as I’ve seen, not Apple TV.

Avoids the hassle of toggling the VPN on and off.

      • Awesome tip, will look into it, thx

    • What VPN provider do you use (I assume you have to pretend you're in the USA)?

Were you able to pay using an Oz credit card?

      • +1

I use pure VPN and checked out with PayPal.

    • At this price why not just get IPTV and get literally everything at the same price?

  • i got this via email, until 31/12/25. Yeah… no thanks. I'll look at other options thanks.

    $42 is a bit rich ain't it -

Plus I really hate giving anything Nine owned my money

But I do love my football

    • If you were watching champions league last couple of years on Stan only. Google says it's been since 2021. Formerly on optus. So now epl, fa cup, CL all in one place, even though it's a price increase, on a net basis it's overall cheaper.

Works for some fans. Doesn't work for others.

  • Surely they'll offer some kind of deal for new customers.

    • If the take up of this incredibly generous offer is low, then yeah, I think you might be right
