Reception issues with my Samsung LCD/LED TVs

HI All,

I have got this issue for last few weeks now and i was hoping one of you might be able to point me in right direction.

The issue is effecting both my 3 year old Samsung Lcd TV in living room and also with my 1 year old samsung LED Tv in the bedroom. Both TVs seems to have reception issues with all channel 7 digital channels and also channel 9 channels from time to time. Either there is no reception for these channels or i get very grainy feed. This only started happening few weeks ago before that everything used to work fine. All channel 10 channels seems to work fine.

I am able to get good reception if i use media player/pvr bought from below deal

Do you guys have any idea as to what can be done to resolve this issue? i have already tried factory reset on both TVs but that didn't help at all.

  • If you're in an apartment building, often the feed to your aerial socket comes from a common area/wiring setup that might have been compromised somehow.
    Same thing happened to us.

If you're in a house or using a standalone antenna, hmm no idea. We had problems when we moved TVs and picked up an amplified antenna on sale at DSE for $30, which was $80 so must have been pretty good, as it solved the problem.

  • Does the reception getting worse match up with rainy weather?

The things that affect this are:

    1. Location
    2. Quality of the tuner
    3. Weather
    4. Antenna

You can't do much about anything other than 4.

  • I had a similar problem before. Paid $80 for a tech to come out and tell me I needed a new cable connecting the antenna to the tv. :(

The reception through pvr was fine because I used a different cable.

  • Thanks Guys i will look into a external antenna/new cable
