    just ordered one

When you confirming order details it asks you to select shipping method which has a charge for road freight or insured. pick either one and it will revert to zero dollars after.

  • Great price. Thanks.

  • +1

Rep just checking…is there a small internal hard drive for basic PVR? Or do we just plug in a USB to record?

Also, how many USB slots are there?

    Cheers

  • Anyone tried these - mini review?

    • +6

Man, love your username….pretty much sums up all of us

    • +17

      Already one here http://junglejumble.com.au/review/product/list/id/1074/

We've been selling these for a year or so. - Never had a complaint. I guess the price helps. Look these aren't the prettiest units on the market - nor the most feature rich. But realistically for $20 with free shipping??? We had a gentleman drive all the way out from Blacktown last weekend to pick one up for $25. Im pretty sure they spent more on lollies than the unit. - No we're not open on the weekend - I opened the store for him. But seriously. Shipping for these units is expensive, Kogan themselves do a similar unit for $39 plus shipping. (http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/hd-digital-set-top-box-pvr/) . @ $20 for this unit inc shipping, for a unit which does everything the Kogan unit referred to above does as well as play Media files? Twenty bucks!! Buy buy buy buy now now now now. :)

Edit: Actually - Later Later Later. - Site getting smashed.

      • I own that Kogan unit and it plays media files avi, mp4, mkv etc.
It does fail with the odd video or audio codec, and it doesn't decode DTS streams.

From the spec on your website I'm not confident that your box will be any better.
Can someone please confirm what formats this box will play?

  • +8

USB Record only. WISH it was internal - I'd smash all the units and sell the HDD's for $20.

    • -2

So they're that bad are they? That you would just smash them and salvage the hard drive if it had one?

  • Never mind, figured it out.

Do these give enough power to hook up a 2.5" external USB drive?

    • +1

Some drive work - some don't. It appears not all 2.5" drives pull the same power. We use an unpowered 2.5" WD 500GB in an Astone case - no probs. Other drives - mostly yes, a few no.

      • Cheers for that. The website seems to have died though while I'm submitting my order.

I got the receipt from PayPal but it's still just sitting there with 'submitting order information' so I have no clue if its gone through.. :-/

        • And now its thrown back an error saying 'unable to communicate with the PayPal gateway' even though I've got the PayPal receipt. Not game to press place order again :-/

    Ermahgerd, its a Berge!

    • +1

      Erts nert gersberms, erts berge

  • So this has dvb tuner or just a recorder!

    • Yes it has a DVBT tuner - Basically its a set top box which can record, coupled with a media player which supports all common file types including AVI, MKV and VOB.

      • .mp4?

  • Rep - when you say $10 off for pickup does this mean they are $10 a pop?! Is the pickup West Gosford?

    • $10 - You are correct - probably best to call before you come in so we can set however many aside. Like I said - 90 in stock now - 900 on their way - Yes in West Gosford.

      • Nice! I'll grab 10 units for various family members at that price but seems your website is being Ozbargain'd right now. I'm assuming you're not taking phone calls now so can you put them aside for me and I'll get it sorted tomorrow? In no hurry so OK to wait until the next 900 come in if there are more impatient OzB's out there!

        • Sure thing. I'll set a few cartons aside.

        • +4

You're throwing in beer as well?
          You rock, rep.

  • im trying to get one but the site is getting hammered :(.. so slow!

    • Not again!!!!!

      • +3

You do have 7 Days people - no need to rush. Honestly I doubt 900 will sell out, although I have been wrong about the OzB effect before.

        • were worried about it getting OzBargained!

        • You mean the Broden effect? Haha

        • +3

          The Professional Effect.

        • +1

So far its 2400 clicks. Was going to order a couple but it looks like the professionals will clean you out first!

  • Yep no access for me either for past 5 minutes. Will try later.

    • Same.. I really want to get one for a work friend!

  • Just me or websIte not loading? Had to check?..on my mobile atm

    • rep just said that the site is getting hammered.

      • Oh i can checkout!

  • Just added - Voice recorders as an option 3x OVR100 - $10, 2x OVR100 $7, 1x OVR100 $4. :)

    • See this link for more info on the voice recorders

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89337

      • As per the old deal - do these come with the ear-microphones bundled in?

        • removed my reply as I managed to find it.. site was so slow to load the page for this deal so I just searched for the voice recorders on the search function and found a higher price.

      • The page linked from that site gives me a virus warning in Avast. Infection Details

        URL:

        http://junglejumble.com.au/skin/m/136007…
        Infection: HTML:Iframe-inf

Can we buy the recorders by themselves?

  • Hi Rep.
Can it play RMVB format? It is not in your play list. Thanks

    • +1

Hmmm not sure - Manufacturer specs didn't say MKV either -we had to test for that.. Ill try but hate to say I doubt it.

      • +1

MKV is great, but both audio codecs or just ac3?

        • Not sure.. If you post a sample link - I'll try tomorrow and post the results.

        • any results to share mate?

  • +1

websites getting flogged , i love a bargain but hate an annoying bargain !!

    • PayPal took my money, but the website screwed up and placing the order again gave another error message:

PayPal gateway has rejected request. A successful transaction has already been completed for this token (#10415: Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details).

And there's no order in my order details. Sent them a message (and even that crashed once when I tried sending it). Their website is shocking :-/

  • so slow, can't put them in a basket.

  • There has been an error processing your request
Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons.

    Error log record number: 1559019733

  • Folks - Yes the website is getting smashed. If you're order gets screwed - please call us tomorrow. Please dont send an email. 1300 11 99 15.

    • Yes the website is getting smashed.
      But only 17 upvotes?…should be 71?..(O)

    • -5

I already emailed you earlier before you wrote this, why should I have to call you to sort out an issue? You guys have already taken my money but there's no order showing on my account.

And with the looks of how many are being ordered, I'm guessing my order will slip through the cracks anyway even though you've already charged me so I'll miss out. Awesome.

  • yeah website is ozbargained.. will it be the same price when you get more stock next week?

    • +1

Certainly - 6 more days to order at this price. What remains (if any) will go back up to $25 + variable shipping calculated at Auspost rates for a 1.1 KG item.. I really dont need to sell these so cheap. - "ebay search" the selling price since now - you'll see they sell all the time. I just need the space for… (que the next 10 pallets of BS cheap stuff for the next OzB deal)

      • sure, we 'could' get it cheaper on ebay … but we dont wanna, you wanted it on ozbargain, we'll give your site the ozbargain flogging it deserves (site note, it's a good way to test the integrity of your site)

  • hi rep,
    i am getting the greetings:

    • +4

Thanks Magento for being such resource intensive. I promise the moment the NBN rollout is finished in West Gosford and we can host our own servers - problem solved (fingers crossed for may 2013).

      • -1

Then as much as Labor stinks right now, make sure you vote them back in. Liberals and Abbott = No NBN = shitty slow Internet remains in this country = can't hammer an OZ Bargain.

        • +3

This is the truth. I don't care if you are Labour/Liberal/whatever the NBN is one of the most important things to happen to Australia for a long time.

Liberals plan as it stands is a joke, if you can even call it a plan.

The NBN is a win-win for everyone, we ALL get fast internet and it will eventually pay for itself - so all the taxpayer money gets paid back.

        • +1

I don't see the how NBN is the most important things to happen in Australia.

So sites don't get 'smashed' and ozbargained? Its still going to happen. Will all the servers be able to handle it? I don't think so.
So that internet gaming can be better?
So that data transfer is faster?

The most important factor in terms of the internet is the availability of information in research, business etc. The system as it is in its current state can already handle this.

        • +1

The current system is a joke, it is very slow and unreliable for much of the population and unless the infrastructure is totally overhauled then it's not going to improve by itself.

No it's not about sites getting smashed/ozbargained - though the OP's idea of hosting their own server is a perfect example of the business opportunities having the NBN will foster.

Can't you see how much a part of our lives the internet is becoming? 20 years ago the internet was a complete niche that only computer nerds used. Now everyone uses the internet more and more every day. In a few years having a slow ADSL connection will be the same as having a 56K dialup modem would be today - nearly useless.

This is the equivalent of rolling out the original copper phone line network. Once it is done it will be serving us well for the next 60 years making it a hugely valuable asset to the country.

      • Maybe the problem isn't with Magento, it's with your hosting company?

  • +1

Is this also a set top box?

    • Yes

  • +2

Hey rep, I bought one of these last time they were on sale for $35 or so, the firmware was old, dated 2010, it has an issue with the program schedule display where it jumps days forward and it emits a very high pitch sound when powered, I sent an email to 'JungleJumble Customer Support' <[email protected]> but never got a response and have not had time to follow up, can you offer any help with this ?

    • +3

Please send your unit back to us.. We will cover return postage. Can you call me tomorrow so I can issue an RA in our system and arrange payment for your out of pocket costs. 1300 11 99 15.

      Regards
      Dan -

Can also ask for mick or mary if Im not available.

  • Basically this is just a set top box with USB recording function and media playback.

If its the same as the one I currently have for media playback it works well Although It does complain about non compliant mp4 videos. IE freezes or get video only with no audio. Does this suffer the same problem? Also do these come with the latest firmware installed?

Found this mentioned in the previous deal for this product.

    From product description:
"The BPVR-1000 records via USB and works with both FAT32 and NTFS hard drives and flash drives."

    • Do you have the same product? I cannot comment for other units other to say we've had very good feedback over the past 12 months on the Berge - Zero returns perhaps 250 units and Zero support calls. Not saying the unit isn't capable of being faulty - If that's the case, we'll replace it. Not hearing back about a product to us - on forums or the phone = happy people in front of their TVs.

Give us a call if it is a Berge and we'll sort it out.

      • Not sure about this one but I know several STB/PVR units that are sold under different names that all use the same software.

Does anybody have a link to the manual for this unit we can download and have a look at? Rather than posting all these questions which will probably be answered in there.

  • +1

Folks, Over and out - I'll check the comments tomorrow morning and respond to as many as possible. If you cant get your order though, please check back tomorrow or call us 1300 11 99 15 - (Please bear in mind we have 4 phone lines).

Really sorry guys. This one's putting much more load on the server than even the voice recorders. No-one can order until the server load slows down.

    OzB: can't live with - cant live…

  • I want one but cannot order..:( sold out i presume

  • What's the difference between this pvr and a generic pvr from target or Kmart ? Does this one have better recording function?

  • trying to order a couple but server is overloaded. hopefully still some left by morning

2213 hits by 10:15pm…that 990 units could be long gone by now

  • could have done with this a month ago when I went out and bought a new tv from aldi just for the USB input.

though I did sell my old tv and old old tv on ebay for what the aldi tv cost, so no loss.

  • +2

I said I was over and out -kind of lied. on the phone to the data center to see if I can increase server resources. You'd be surprised: If no-one can order - NO ONE can order. Still hundreds available due to that fact - Ill know better when I can log in myself (even via SSH). again.

  • Back up!!!!. For how long - I have no idea.

    • still no good…….

  • +1

    Nope still doesn't work.

  • So rep,can this player play rmvb?

    • Not in the office to try. At home. Will try tomorrow morning and post the results.

  • +1

PPl, 11:30PM - done my best but cant get things happening now - increased resources but that filled up them moment I did. I thought I knew about the OzB effect.. Clearly still learning. Night all.

    • +1

Good on ya for trying :)

  • Seems to be working now, just placed my order and got email confirmation.

  • i've got one in my cart and trying to pay by paypal but when i select shipping option.. there's only 2 and they're both paid?

edit: nevermind.. it seems to have sorted itself. ordered!

    • what's that means? I got the same problem.

      • I got stuck there for a while too. But then I just chose one of the shipping options, continued, and got booted back to the same page again, at which point the $0.00 shipping option had appeared.

        • +1

yeah when you select either one of the shipping options.. it doesn't actually add anything to the total… but then the page refreshes anyway and the 2 shipping options disappear and you're left with 1 option which is the free shipping.

  • Trying to get through this. First, it stated free shipping.
But it's end up charge the shipping $7 - 10 at the last page after paying with paypal.
    I just wonder why?

  • Finally placed an order…I've been trying since 10pm. Looking forward to getting this in the post. Thanks OzB

  • Rep, you said to post a sample.
This is a mkv file with AC3 audio, wondering if it works, thanks.

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/66998196/SAMPLE.avi

    • FYI that's not an mkv (container) file. It's an avi containing an MPEG-4 (XviD in particular) video stream, and an AC3 audio stream. Pretty standard stuff, and I'd be suprised if it wasn't supported.

      • I just assumed it was mkv because of file size, oops. I'll look for another sample

      • I can't edit that post anymore, ah well. Anyway, I bought a media player that was on ozB a few months ago, and it plays SOME mkv, but I believe it has problems with the AC3 audio stream. Hence why I'm hesitant to buy this.

  • +1

Just ordered five to give to my sucker neighbours who recently bought crappy SONY TV's that can't play anything after they ignored my advice to buy a Sammy or LG…. grrrrrr.

    Nice Deal JJ! Thanks.

  • Just ordered one + the voice recorder - $24 delivered. Just waiting on email with TN.

    Good one rep.

  • Will this work on an NTSC tv with no PAL tuner in Australia? ie will it convert to PAL via HDMI?

  • 12:35 Just ordered without a problem. The Kogan is great value for ~$40 although can't handle hidef mkv. Even if this is no better, it's an unbelievable bargain. Thanks JJ. +1.

  • Rep, is it fair to assume that just like the Olin voice recorders you'll be taking these PVRs out of their cartons so that you can fit the contents inside envelopes? Tardis envelopes?? Free delivery by way of wormhole??? This would explain alot. Amazing deal.

    • These will be likely 3Kg satchels or eParcel consignments depending on where you live.

  • +4

Hi Rep, I am wondering how soon you will reply support emails as I've sent many emails regarding my orders of the Olin 512Mb recorder not being delivered, but got no reply. Are you serious in business or this is just an individual and particular case? Seriously I have no confidence to shop from you now until the case solved. I need communication rather than ignorance.
