I went last year in Melbourne with the free tickets that were posted and i can tell you it was a big disappointment, i'm so glad i didn't have to pay for the tickets like some people did. And when Kevin came on stage which wasn't very big there were loads of people around it (obviously), and behind him was a big screen that didn't actually have him on it for the people further away?, and if you were further away it was hard to hear him let alone see him.

Anyway all the stalls that were there were just basically big company's trying to sell their stuff, i thought they would have been more things on show that were not just from a showroom.

I love GD but this show is a let down, i was there for 45 mins.

    Not grand at all.

Anyway all the stalls that were there were just basically big company's trying to sell their stuff,

The idea of 'live' makes it sound like a big show, but appears it's just like any other expo that goes on.

Most expos (like CeBit) are free anyway, although they advertise a ticket cost - does anyone actually pay it?

Yep. It was an utter waste of time…unless you're 70 and love buying steam mops, magic bullets and other assorted junk.

  • Got some for Melbourne, cheers OP

  • Melbourne tickets? Can't seem to get them, can someone explain?

    • possibly all gone?

    • Nope, it is still running.

      Don't use IE. Use FF.

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed a couple

  • Cheers OP. Grabbed a Double Pass.

    UTTER WASTE OF TIME.

It's like a massive expo version of Danoz Direct….

It was so packed last year you could barely move and the theme played over and over again

  • Got my tickets, since I can walk there but not too sure what it is.

  • Tried again (Chrome with browser restart)

    Got tickets this time

  • +1

I guarantee all the people who get tickets will be very dissapointed and will be telling people not to go next year ;o)

  • Thanks op. Got some for Melbourne

  • +2

YES this is an EXPO (aka Sales tool). BUT just like anything else, there's some interesting stuff and some crap. If you're in town and looking to kill an hour it's not a bad thing. Best of all you (may) get to stand next to Jamie Durie and feel good about how tall you are (even if you're not)

    • oh. hes 172cm tall (5'7")

      so cute XD

  • Thanks. I went last year and for free I would go again. Expect a home renovations expo show though, rather than a "Grand Designs Live" tour event though.

  • Thanks op. Got tickets to Sydney
