NExus 4 users avoid this, check Amazon reviews

      • Does it not work at all?

        • Guys, just some feedback from a Nexus 4 user. Summary: it's mostly ok. The device will charge, but to do so you need to fiddle with the position to get it just right. I've been able to have it charge without my normal tpu case.

      • Hi could you put the link here please, I have a nexus 4 and interested in one, thanks

      • +1

Link please? And what was the general issue?

      • +1
      • Got the Panasonic TM101 and the wireless backup battery (QE-PL102) last month at Tokyo for my Nexus 4. Only cost around $34 for the charging pad and $24 for the battery. Can also buy from eBay just cost a little more. Works much better than the Nokia pad. Just put the phone anywhere on the pad and it will move coil to charge it. Only down side it stop charging once the battery reach 100% (and will not charge again unless you move the phone), so I usually wake up in the morning with around 93% battery.

        • I own the tm101 as well and while I've read many reviews saying the same thing I've never experienced it stop charging at 100%. I've woken up with 100% battery every time. Although I'm using a note II with a qi receiver pad

        • I've got a note 2 and interested in what receiver you use for your note. Does it add any bulk?

        • im using this - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321080889492?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…
fits under the stock battery cover but does add a little buldge. doesn't bother me too much though

        • I have exactly the same with my lumia. Love the portable battery and the torch is a clever extra.

and yes it stops charging at 100%

    • not many left in Toombul, QLD….

I also picked up this "Nokia Angry Birds Mobile Pouch" $2.80 in the bargain bin)

      http://dicksmith.com.au/product/EA6521/nokia-cp-3006-univers…

no good for my 920 but good for my son and his 800

      • 47c more than I paid a month ago, its a neat cover, and who doesn't like that bird?

  • Can't believe this. Just bought a Nokia 820 at DSE (on special!) and was thinking of getting a charging pad for it. Great timing!

    • Same here =)

      • +2

But beware you need a charging case for 820 as well.

        • +1

          Deleted.

        • +3

I have 2 spare nokia 820's charging case shells.. I have them in my drawel as I have a nokia 920, if anyone wants one PM me.

          Edited: Im located in Melbourne

        • Hi, yes please, but your PMs are off. May be you could message me please.

        • I would be up for one too if still available?

        • My hand is up. Pls msg me, in E burbs Melb

Many thanks to rob87. Top bloke.

SWEET! Though I fear the QI standard may not last and I'd be stuck with a bunch of useless paper weights. Already have two stands and one pad, but at this price, I may just start trying to embed them in furniture all other the place :p

    • Just out of curiosity, what made u think that Qi may not last?

      • +1

Perhaps something to do with Intel? see this
But who knows which standard will win in the end.

  • Thanks OP. Just ordered one! Been waiting a long time for a good deal :)

Will this work with galaxy s2/3?

    • +4

This will work with the Galaxy S3, you will need to buy a NFC card that pops under the S3 case. I have done this with my Gf's phone and works perfectly!

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/400472360538?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…

This is the one i bought and received in a week.

      • -6

What does it look like? Is it compatible with the S3 4G i9305?

        • +1

It clearly shows it in the thumbnail and yes but you need something else as far as I have heard

        • I'm using one on my i9305, did not buy it from eBay but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

      • Thanks for the tip. Didn't know you ened something attached to work with it on Galaxy S3

        • Same deal with the S4

      • Hic hic hic … did not read your post before buying the receiver pad on ebay for $12.99

Didn't know why the seller from your link did not pop up when I searched for the item. Loosing over $3 there …

      • That's not a NFC card but that's what I've done to my S4 as well.

      • This ebay receiver module pad fully covers up the Galaxy S3 battery. The OEM NFC is built into the battery. Does this receiver module pad block the Galaxy S3 OEM NFC transmission?

    • +1

ummm. Nexus 7 doesnt support wireless charging so ofcoz its incompatibilities with Nexus 7

      • I think bibiphok meant the Nexus 4, from the linked article:

In testing the Nexus 4 this week on Nokia's DT-900 Qi charging pad (the one that AT&T has been throwing in for free with purchases of the Lumia 920), our results weren't promising: the Nexus would connect, disconnect, reconnect, and disconnect once again from the charger, ad nauseam, making the "charger connected" notification sound each and every time. The charging light on the pad, meanwhile, flashed on and off in rhythm with the connections annunciated by the phone. It didn't matter how the Nexus was positioned on the pad (Qi advertises a large, forgiving charging surface as one of its benefits, coincidentally) — the two simply wouldn't work together consistently enough to get the phone charged.

Awesome! I just bought 5 of them

    1 for work
    1 for study room
    1 for parents place
    1 for bedroom
    1 for kitchen

I will never have to deal with a dead phone again! :)

    • +8

Can I interest you in a $50 HDMI cable from DSE too ?

    • +3

How about 1 for the toilet?

  • Great deal. Though charging shell for 720.. hmmmm..

  • how is the charging rate on these? Are they efficient or super slow compared to mains AC charging?

  • -2

    *they're

  • +1

So these will work sweet with my Lumia 920?

  • wonder how many people actually still use Nokia.. i can't think of anyone in my circle that still has one

    • +1

Still I'm the only one amongst my mates but my boss once used 610 or something and still he likes Nokia. The reason he bought Galaxy was he couldn't find the retail shop selling Nokia on stand as he needed it right away.

For who are not heavy app users and just need SNS and basic app services, (travel apps are good here - Nokia Here Transit) it is really reasonable option.. and BETTER LOOKING than iOS7 and Android IMAO!

    • +1

I'm using a Nokia 808 PureView. I like how others react when they read the label on the camera.
There are 3 Lumia 800, 3 Lumia 920 in my circle, all others have iPhones or Android, I'm the only one with n9 and 808. I only suggest ppl Lumia if they want a cheap phone just for calls, text and internet.

      • Yeah the 808 Pureview is amazing and the upcoming Lumia EOS has piqued my interest. Also add the fact that a Snapdragon 800 Lumia is coming soon and I think Nokia is (hopefully) making a comeback.

That said Windows Phone is still lacking in certain features and app availability.

  • says stock in hurstville but can't do click and collect?
    edit: annnnd its gone. meh
edit2: Got 2 from Menai and 2 from Hurstville. woohoo wireless charging all round for my galaxy

  • Its not available for home delivery, another low stock item….blah

    • +2

That's because clowns here are buying 5 for themselves…

  • work for HP touchpad ?

    • Nope, Touchstone uses a different standard.

  • +3

    Work for Nokia 3310?

    • +3

      3310 doesn't need to charge at all….
it will continue to last after the end of the world

  • I paid about $60 for one of these from JB when they first got stock.. $20 is an awesome price (especially since it's not Nokia specific and will work for any Qi compatible wireless setup) - All DSEs showing low stock around me though.

  • I was about to dash to buy 2. Did some research on the speed of charging…I will pass.

    How does this sorcery work?

  • These will work for the S4?

  • ..

  • Why is "Qi" pronounced "Chee" ?

It's not exactly how we pronounce it though, but I believe it's the closest a non Chinese speaker can get.

    • 氣 Wiki said Chinese ppl say Qi.

I only know Korean and Japanese, it say 'Ki'..

Rang up DSE at Eastgardens, told me they had plenty of black and whites

Ask to reserve, Dimitri says cannot reserve clearance stock, its first come first served basis, but there will be plenty even by end of day

8 mins later, my dad walks in and Dimitri says there are none left. I then ring him and he says I should have resevred them and the ones in stock are all reserved. Lying prick.

    • So you negged this deal why?

      • maybe because dodgy DSE staff …Mr Dimitri :P

        • +1

Doesn't mean he should neg the deal though. There's clearly stock in stores based off other users. Just because he's poopie doesn't mean he should ruin OP's deal with a neg.

        • +4

Last time I checked, dodgy behaviour by a business is a valid reason for negging. He was told he can't reserve and that there is plenty stock, only to find out that there wasn't plenty stock, and that others could reserve but he couldn't.

This is typical DS staff behaviour. Negging the deal makes people aware that they might waste their time going to a store.

        • They're not wasting their time, look at all these other users getting them.

        • So I should automatically upvote the deal cos everyone else is?

There is a reason why users can either neg a deal or upvote it. If I believe it is not a deal, and provided a legit reason to why I THINK it should be a neg, why should it bother you?? Weird….seems like voting Nazis are out today

    • +1

This is why you never inform their scumbag staff of a clearance item, at least until you physically go down and have it in your hands. Most of them are completely clueless about clearance until you mention it, and when you do they just take the stock off display for themselves and coworkers (or ebay etc.)

  • Got one from DSE North Sydney. There's only 1 left there when I left

  • Rang DS Melbourne CBD, they are useless. "There are a number on hold so I can't sell you any unless they aren't collected". UGH. Rude woman too.

    • +2

      must be Dimitri's missus

    • yeah those were my ones on hold… Which were sold… Before I got to them… Not happy.

  • Ultimate bargain if you can get one. Amazingly useful even for Android phones as it is a standard (just get the battery add on from ebay), great reviews on amazon and they go for about $50-$60 on ebay.

  • Thanks for this,

All colours seem to be this price, picked up 2 from my local DSE (last ones as well)

great to allow me more time to build them into some more furniture :D

  • I don't even own a Nokia (yet) and I'm thinking of getting one haha. Good price

  • Rang up Hurstville, Hurstville Westfields, Eastgardens, Rockdale - all out of stock.

  • Pakenham had 4, I bought the 2 black ones. There is a blue and white one left.

  • do these work with Galaxy NExus?
