  • wow…i thought floodlight all comes with those hot steamy expensive (but bright) halogen tubes….

This is the first time I see one using Energy saving bulb…..4000 lumens hey?! wonder how bright that is in terms of Halogen tubes….

    • LED floods common now

      • Hi Cryptos,

Yes they are common now, and we do stock them as well, but we are not clearing them at the moment.

This is a better option to consider if:

        a. Budget is an issue (For this price, you'd only be able to get a lower output LED flood)
        b. You want to be able to easily replace an energy saving bulb down the track rather than replace a complete potentially expensive unit as soon as one of the LEDs or one of its other multiple internal component fails.
        c. If you are after a non glary unit, as current LED units have trend of having a really bad glare when you look directly at them(which we don't recommend) and if you generally don't like the unique colour spectrum that LED light sources have.

    • Hi Lovepub,

Regarding lumen output, good point of measure i use is a typical good halogen downlight should output around 750 lumen, so if you divide that by 4000, you are looking at the power of approximately 5 downlights beaming into the area you are trying to light up.

However i have to mention a lot of lumen doesn't always necessarily mean a good spread of light, the lens quality, reflector quality and angle can greatly effect this.

      I hope this helps :)

      • You should compare apples with apples though. A halogen floodlight of similar size to this one would use at least a 500W linear tube. Crompton rates theirs at 9,500 lumens.

        • Hi Eug,

Just trying to put it in a simple lay mans terms, not many people would have experience with floodlights and how much output they would or should create from a lumen to reality point of view.

  • hows it compare to something like this:

edit: ahh didnt refresh and see some of your comments in this regard above.

  • anything similar for cordless? looking to light up maybe an outdoor basketball court for an hour or two. Thanks!

    • Hi Kzsv,

Yes there are options available, however they run from a 240V so you'd need to run it off a generator, feel free to contact our office for more details. Number is 08 9314 4555
