  • WOW 0.15c to call Japan mobile, whats the audio quality like? I might have to download this and test it out

    • yeah.. its very cheap. its 3 cents to mobile and 14 cents to landline when you call Japan. I havent tried calling to Japan but it is very clear when i call Indonesia.

  • Cheaper rates at various resellers of betmax:
    http://backsla.sh/betamax

Japan mobile at 0.078 with easyVoIP
Including vat it's be a bit more but still cheaper than 0.15

    • I tried some of the voip services you have in the table but I didnt like the quality.. It really bothered me when it lagged and got disconnected sometimes. but i see some services that have a little lower rates than Global Call.. so try both, compare every factor you take into consideration and choose the best for you.

I have been using various betamax providers for over 4 years now. Though occasionally there is a lag of half a second, I found the call quality otherwise to be quiet good. I have used it using all the means: Local access number, using app and also using SIP phone. SIP phone has best quality - Local access has a lag sometimes and they have improved upon the app quiet a bit over the last few months.
        Hope this helps.

        • i guess the connection is more due to the internet connection you have. If both you and the recipient have stable internet connection, then voip might be the way to go but my family members in indonesia dont. So i think this app is the best for me. thank you for your information tho :)

I am surprised this post hasn't received more comments yet

As I'm sure consumers would beminterested in a VoIP phone app that saves them " calling card" / or Telco rates

If the service provided is reliable

    • yeah.. i know!! I told all my friends about this app as soon as i found out that it will save me a lot of money AND the connection is very good. If you have any expat friends like me, let them know. They will really appreciate it.

I just tried Global call, made a quick call to my family having a holiday in Vietnam. I must say, there is no delay or lag what so ever. I might have to buy some credit, this app is much cheaper than Skype and I can use it on the go ^_^

    • hi johnny :) happy it works really well with you too. Ever since i started using the app, i've become less homesick because i got to talk to my family a lot more than before. If you are willing to buy some credit, you might want to hurry. The bonus credit event ends this thursday.

  • We have used Go Talk for a number of years to phone the U.K. When applying for a recharge a few weeks ago they offered us their " special" phone which enables direct dialing to the numbers stored with a cost @ 0.05c per min.
In addition we were given $30.00 in credit to use. We obviously took up this offer. The cost of the phone was $49.95 but with the $30.00 credit & calls so cheap it was too good to miss. O.K. you can't see the people you're speaking to but personally I don't want to go to put make-up on & re-style hair prior to making a phone call!!

    • I dont know if Go Talk has Indonesia in their service but i wanna stick with Global Call cuz i don't wanna carry an extra phone with me all the time and Global Call has lower rates. I just checked UK's and its 3 cents/min(landline). If you have a smartphone, you can try install it and try it since downloading the app is free. If you dont, Go Talk seems to be a good option for you. But still…. With $20, the net amount you paid, you can call about 12 hours with Global Call..

  • Go Talk is a landline phone & @ 0.05c per min will equate to apx.40 hours talktime ( if I've done my sums correctly !) for our $20.00 fee paid. However thank you for the info. on Global Call as have never heard of them before. Are they for mobiles as would definately be interested for when away from home

    • Global Call seems to be a new service.. I can call both landline and mobile on this app. The rates vary depending on the country you call to. Its 5 cents to landline and 7 cents to mobile when i call indonesia.

  • Thanks for the info. Will be looking into it further.
