Pillows

Hello

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to shop for affordable pillows? I've finally decided that the ones I have now are simply terrible after sleeping on a friend's pillow the other day.

I thought I'd turn to ozbargain. I guess it could get expensive to buy them online due to shipping such big items… anyone know any good deals on some comfortable pillows? Are those foam ones or whatever they are worth it?

Any tips would be appreciated, in hindsight I suck at shopping for pillows.

  • latex is the best material, dunlopillo are one of the best brands, harris scarfe is usually the cheapest :)

    • why the neg? what don't you agree with?

  • I purchased a pillow from Aldi the other day, extremely good quality and it was made in Australia too. I'm beyond happy with how comfortable it was! I think I paid about $15 but worth it!

  • If you are anywhere near a Dimmeys store they have pillows from $6 but they don't sell online.
Latex are very long lasting but are quite high and don't "squish down" to achieve a personal comfort. Feather & Down are excellent, they fluff up consistently for years but set off some peoples allergies and they "squish down" a lot so if you are looking for firm neck support they're not the best. Polyester filled are the cheapest, low allergenic, can be manouvered for personal comfort though might not last as many years as other types - though they are the ones I would recommend.

  • always found latex to be expensive and real firm.. if you like that soft hotel feel then go for 'down feather' pillows - not cheap but yeah… i bought on the myers sale recently for $49 the downia 'double down' pillows… firmer then down feather pillows as the lady said that double down they pack down and some non down feathers into a more tighter pack in middle - so it gives some support, but not entirely as soft/flluffy as i wanted. getting used to it but it'd be good for others. their other plain 'down feather' pillows and 'white goose' feathers are heavenly soft :). Brand is downia.

  • Probably not what you're looking for but one of the best pillows around is the Dentons Medirest, recommended by physiotherapists. Can be found in retail shops on special every now and then for about $55 and worth every penny. If you buy a decent pillow make sure you either have a pillow protector under your pillow slip or a double pillow slip at least.

  • Harris Scarfe are having an online sale right now, I think their in-store sale starts this Wednesday. I am going in on Wednesday to buy new pillows and some bedding :)

  • the coles near my work had twin pack of pillows for $7.

  • +1

I think you should ask your friend to know what the brand is and then looking for a bargain.
