  • thx for the heads up

  • I remember the first year I participated in the steam summer sale - super excited, despite my tight budget (was a poor uni student then), but still managed to grab 7-8 awesome deals! Also they gave away items for in-game achievements, all linked around the theme of steam's summer sale. I remember staying at home playing TF2, Magicka and the like trying to get those items.

The next year, I had a bit more money, was a little less excited - I had a lot of the games I already wanted. They didn't have in-game items or steam badges anymore, but still, there were a few good deals.

This year, I'm working full-time, and I have all the money I can spend on computer games. And finally I've got all the games I really want, but now have no time to play any of them. Sad days! :(

For the new people out there (if there are any) unless you have never purchased from Steam or dont have many games in general, the steam sales are not that great. For older games that have been on sale over and over -Yes.

Please check Green Man Gaming,Gamersgate and pretty much any other online digital game dealer who is looking to compete (not hard) with the Steam sales.

Not Steam bashing here but it gets very tiresome listening to someone go on and on about what a great deal they got in the Steam sale when the game was cheaper 6 months ago from another online game seller.

Also for people who are new to the steam summer sales
If/When purchasing an item from steam make sure to select purchase as gift
That way when you end up with a huge amount of games from the sale and maybe you decide you don't want to play/own that game you could give/sell/trade it to someone else.

You can add games from your inventory to your steam library by right clicking on the gift and choosing add to steam library.
