Dan Murphys 4 for $99.00 Spirits (= $24.75 Per 700ml Bottle)

140

A bit late, as I think this finishes on wednesday.
Note, unsuitable for the Spirit Snobs, tight drinkers like me.
DM calls it thursday specials, but I have tried it on their website, and I was able to add 4 x McAllisters and on checkout it shows as $99.00.

  • Not bad for cheapo booze - mix-n-match also works so any four for $99!

  • Free delivery?

No free delivery - savings are very small.

Stick with the vodka, try the gin or rum if you're feeling adventurous.

At this price point the brandy and whisky are almost certainly repulsive.

    • The vodka is like metho, I haven't tried the Rum, but 1st Choice's Armada rum is usually ~$27-28 & a nice drop.

eh not great, doesn't seem that long ago that Dan Murphy used to sell jim beam white 700ml for $25 on sale all the time. Decent enough for mixing.

    • I keep thinking the same, but it's been a long time (at least a couple of years), since I was able to get my favourite deal of 2 for $50.00 of Ballantines or Black Douglas from IGA.

  • The McAllister scotch is pretty awful. Only useful (just) as a mixer.

    • Is the McAllister that bad?
My favourite Scotch is Ballantines, J&B. and Grants, one of the worst Scotch I've ever had is the Vat69, this is back when the Johnny Red and Ballantine's std price was around $26, I remember in my tight ways trying the V69 (around $19.00 then), I found it too rough, and never bought it again. Now it sells for the same price as the Johnny Red.
As I always drink it mixed with Cola, I am not a snob about whisky, so I dont go for the premium blends, I dont really appreciate them, to pay the premium.

  • Note that most have only Alcohol By Volume 37.0% instead of 40%

    • I remember Fed parliament passed a law in the 90's that Scotch had to be 40%.

  • I can recommend the Napoleon brandy
