  • Good price OP. It's a pitty it can't maintain a constant temperature for longer periods

    • yes true, for that one need to spend more (around $91), it's Avent iQ Bottle And Baby Food Warmer, was going to get the digital but ended up buying above one. :)

      • I don't think the Avent IQ has heat preservation function, I just checked the manual.

        • hmm i thought it had, sorry…
may need to stretch the budget…

    • not sure about formula or baby food .. but breast milk goes bad quite quickly when its on a certain temp for too long or is reheated. (ie. too hot, then cold water wash find it too cold, then reheat..)

I think formula is worse than breast milk for being unsafe quickly when at room temperature or above. We were lucky and our boy didn't care & wouldn't mind if it was cold.

    As a guilty mum…

    • I thought you did not have sexual relations with that woman!

Just use your jug and a thermometer if you really need it. Seems a gimmick, but parents will buy anything for their baby.

    • well, tried all alternatives, could not find better option, and after all it's for baby only "no compromise", one would spend $$$$$ for phone or gadgets.. why not spend some for baby…

    • you don't really want to fap with the temp of the milk (especially the breast espressed ones)… even a small warmer like this is a godsend. this plus an egg timer.

2am,4am,6am in the morning, you don't want to be carrying a wailing baby , looking for hotwater and a jug and a thermometer and whatever crap you needed to make said food for the baby.

especially this item, i am buying it for us to retain our sanity. not the baby. so idkwtf you are on about.

I soon worked out that 9 seconds in the microwave elevates 50ml of expressed breast milk to lukewarm temperature.

Its not like the milk has to be dead-on 37 degrees celsius.

        • depends on the wattage of the microwave, which can be anything from 600W to 1100W and above. Our heats 150ml of cold water up to beyond lukewarm in 27 seconds. And the time required to heat things in a microwave increases less than linearly with quantity.

        • and if you freeze the milk?

it's not a hard&fast rule with microwave as well.

Well millions of other people do know wtf I am on about. Organise it when the baby is asleep. Start boiling the jug, put the bottle in a saucepan and then fill it with hot water. What do you think people did before this machine was invented?

And baby milk shouldn't be microwaved.

  • I know what you mean….but now I have a house full of crap. Perhaps worthwhile if it saves valuable time.

I bought one of these when we had our twins, must have used three or four times then packed it away, it heats up formula and breast milk to the same temperature as lava, There's no cut out at a temperature, it just keeps heating

So if you're carrying a wailing a baby trying to heat the food up, you'll need to make sure you don't get distracted for a minute or you'll end up with boiling hot milk that would strip paint

And BTW it still uses water!

    • darth, use an egg timer!
