If the case is rugged and users know the case is rugged, then the phone is safe.

If the case is flimsy and users know the case is weak. Users will take care of the phone. Then phone is still safe.

If the case is flimsy and users thinks the case is rugged, the phone is vulnerable.

    • What are you talking about?

      • If this case is flimsy, and the seller brand it as "heavy duty", the users will think it can sustain some drops. Thus the phone is used in a rough way. That make the phone vulnerable for damage.

My point is: be careful when user put a $600 phone in a $2 case thinks that it can protect the phone.

I use genuine Otterbox case for my iphone and galaxy and they DO take drops from 1.7m.

        • Seems legit

    • so in other words, cheap cases claiming to be rugged promotes a false sense of security?

i suppose that makes sense…i'm not so paranoid with the ipod touch in a Griffin Survivor case. it took a 1m drop onto a tiled floor like it was nothing.

      • Finally, someone understand me without having to spell out the words.
