  • I haven't got one bill that could be paid by credit in Auspost. Yarra water and AGL.

  • do you have to make full payment when paying your bill?

  • I paid my bill after splitting under $100 at another aus post.

  • I did this just the other day with my Origin bill. Total amount was around $260, I split into 3 varied payments of between $80 to $90 (I'm hoping if I do random amounts other than $99, I won't be noticed by ING). Person at the Auspost counter had no problem with me splitting the payments in one transaction (or using paywave). Got the 5% rebates.

    • Are we not allowed to pay bills via ING?
I split my Origin bill into equal $99 portions. Didn't bother trying to be subtle about it.

      • Of coarse you are allowed to do it, just some bills won't allow the payments to be split. Also some Australia posts may not have the paywave facility. That's oft the only problem with this card, finding the places that have paywave.

      • You can, but from what I've read around the forums its not really keeping to the terms of the 5% promo, i.e. using it only for daily expenses. ING may be tempted to close your account if you're abusing the promo, and putting through lots of $99 transactions might raise some alarm bells - hence why I try to use random amounts.

  • Yeah I'd like to do this with registration, so you just go to Auspost and ask to split the payments into $90 amounts?

The Mascot PO told me that they dont accept paywave??? Citing that you cant pay a utility bill by credit card???

    Anyone come across that?

Yup Ryde post office shattered my hope with the same reasoning when I went to pay my Origin electricity bill which clearly says that credit card is accepted but there would be certain amount of surcharge

      • Why wouldnt they accept a credit card payment.

Did they say that they would charge a processing fee if paid by CC?

    • ING is not a credit card. It's a debit card. So there's no risk for the seller. Why do they consider it as a credit card instead of cash card.

      • All paypass/Paywave transactions are credit irrespective of the type of the card

  • Does paying utility bills via paywave still work? Tried it and kept getting invalid transaction result at auspost.

    • Is that using mebank card? I have same issue. I called mebank regarding it. A week on they said it is a issue with auspost terminals but have no eta on when they wil be fixed. I said i primarily use the card for paywave purchases so they said they will keep me updated once resolved.

  • Just split the payment over a few days. It can be a 500 dollar bill. A cool 25 dollar saving
