    • +6

why don't you click on the link and read.

      • +3

lol, many people are too lazy to click the link on the forum to find out the answers themselves.

      • In this case it isn't clear on their website, though my guess is it is the wifi version.

      • +3

I clicked on the link, read, and there is no mention of 3G capability (or not).

      • +2

because it wasn't clear from the website if it has 3g or not…

  • Ordered mine (3g version) Tuesday arvo. I also received the message "unsucessfull…. and order status: failed". I emailed cfonline immediately and I received a response quickly, more on their web site issue. After a couple of hours I received tracking number (Couriers Please). I received the item this morning. As per description, the unit repacked in a brand new plain packaging (sealed). I don't see any sign of use or scratches it looks brand new,so far working smoothly.

Bought the 32GB wifi version for $179 - ordered Wednesday morning arrived Thursday morning. As new but in plain packaging, very happy with it!

Was all going really well…. now it's bricked :(

Update 4.3 downloaded automatically, said to click to reboot and install.

Went part way through install, then ERROR. Loaded up at 'X' screen.

Haven't worked out how to get it working again yet…

Found a few guides but haven't been able to try them yet.

same thing here,,i got it this morning

tried to update but stuck in between

looking for solutions but nothing working,,,,,,

can someone help,,,,,,should we call asus or centrafield,,,,,

      • Updated mine to jellybean 4.3 last night. No problem encountered during installation and so far all working well. Try contacting asus.

      • Can you still get into the bootloader? Hold power until you see the Google logo, then press Vol down.

If so, it's not bricked, you can rescue it yourself no problem. Try one of your links.

        • yea i can get into the bootloader,,,,those links are actually to unlock your bootloader and then root and install stock or custom rom.

But i dont want to do that as this new device,,it would void the warranty.

i have tried pushing the update packgae through adb but i's not working.

        • Mine came yesterday morning and it also got stuck on the X screen after I went ahead with the 4.3 OTA update. Tried everything I could for hours (including going into recovery and doing factory reset & wiping cache) and still couldn't get it working.
I later gave it to my friend and he said something about my Nexus 7 suffering from corrupted partitions from the update, so he wiped the Nexus 7 clean, then installed 4.2.2.
Now I am a happy chap thanks to him. Hopefully he'll post something later to help you guys.

        • how did you do that,,,,,wiped it clean means rooted and unlocked bootloader then installed 4.2.2,,,,,please clarify,,,,,

        • +4

          Working again :)

Did not use the above link that I posted, found a simpler solution.

SOLUTION - this worked for me and didn't take very long once I worked out what to do.
Not sure about warranty voiding, but looks like there's a way to get it back to stock software anyway so I don't know if this is an issue.

          1. Download the Factory Image file from this link:
            https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#nakasi
You can go back to 4.2.2, or go straight to 4.3. I chose 4.3.

          2. Download Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit
            http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
Download the file from this link (this is a linked to from the above site)
            http://d-h.st/mUa

          3. Install and open Nexus Root Toolkit.

          4. Under initial setup, click 'Full Driver Installation Guide - Automatic + Manual'

          - Click the button to be taken to device manager and then USBDview
          - Do as it instructs - uninstall all drivers relating to Google, Samsung, Android.
          - Install new drivers - I used 'Solution #1, Universal Drivers'.

          1. Plug in the Nexus 7 and boot up in Bootloader by holding power and both volume buttons.

*At this point, I clicked 'Unlock' to unlock the device and have not yet worked out how to successfully relock it although that is an option in the Toolkit. Not sure if this was necessary.

          1. Everything else on computer now… Select 'Soft-Bricked / Bootloop'
            'Flash Stock + Unroot'
Choose the .tgz file that you downloaded before.

          2. Takes maybe 5 or 10 minutes and then you should have a functioning device again!

Note… I have not been able to get the OEM Lock feature to work yet, just says device not found.
Will work that out if I ever need to send it back for warranty.

        • Can't seem to access the storage through USB anymore either…

Although it shows as connected and driver installed.

EDIT: Deleted the driver, let windows update get it again and now all is well!!!!

          Happy now :)

        • Put the 4.2.2 back on it again using the same tool…. found that lots of apps were not downloading on 4.3… presumably because of the new release and apps not being compatible yet, not sure though. Might wait until more apps work with it.
Was getting errors all the time 923 and 495 I think were the numbers. For most things I was trying to download.

Now on the 4.2.2 not having any problems.
4.3 update downloaded but not going to install it again :)

Went into Google Services Framework app info, un-ticked 'show notifications' and removed the notification from the top bar… not sure if this will have any other issues but looks like it works!

        • I also got the error while upgrading - i don't want to root to void warranty.

any alternatives other than contacting store/asus?

I purchased the 16gb model this morning at 9:30am (Perth time). Approximately 1 hour after I made the purchase I received a phone call from CFOnline to confirm my shipping address. I had chosen to send it to my work address as opposed to my billing address so they were just double checking that this was correct. What impresses me is that they actually took the time to call me and the fact that only 1 hour after I’d paid for the item they were already processing it and shipping it out the door. A+ service in my book!

    • +1

yeah their service is too good this time,,,,

  • Bought but error on completing transaction. Have received email confirming purchase. Is this ok?

  • +1

Finally received my order! I don't have any complaints about CF Online. As far as I'm concerned the product is great. The courier company they used though is terrible. My advice is to avoid Couriers Please like the plague! According to their tracking system my item arrived at their Perth depot at 6:34am on Tue 13 Aug. It was not delivered to my work address (Perth CBD) until roughly 12pm Thu 15 Aug. When I questioned them (via email as their phone number goes directly to a recorded message advising you to email them your enquiry) as to why my item had to sit in their depot for over 48 hours before being delivered they came back with a bunch of feeble excuses about the driver taking it to the wrong address, blah, blah, blah… The correct address was clearly written on the front of the parcel when I eventually received it so I highly doubt their claims.
I know when you order something you don’t usually get to choose what method the seller uses to post it to you but maybe this could serve as a warning to sellers out there.
What makes me laugh the most though is that Couriers Please’s slogan is “Service is our Success”. That's certainly not what I & a lot of others seem to have experienced.

    • I got it next day in sydney.i was also skeptical about couriers please but went good for me 2 times..they have a lot of complaints online but i think they are trying to improve, , or can be a hit or miss for some… .anyhow you got it cheersssssssds

  • wow i have to say, very impressed with delivery times with this business.

Ordered saturday morning - received sunday morning - and it was a father's day present. did not choose express.
