Apparently, it was suppose to be free only for United Arab Emirates to replace Spec Ops: the Line because it was banned there. I used the web store so I do not know if it will work on PS3 store.

don't think star wars pinball works, tried buying it off the web store then downloading it on my vita, and it still says trial version, and no trophies appear for it either.
"You need to use the vita store, not web store. My notification did say "Full game" downloaded, also Ive got 2 trophies from it so its definitely is a full version"

the full game unlock still says trial in the corner when first opened, and no trophy list appears… so i'm guessing they've fixed that error overnight

Damn, doesn't work on my US account. Not that I thought it would since Spec Ops isn't there either.
I signed up to PS+ and bought these games for $0. However I don't have a PS3 (yet) will the games remain on my account as long as my subscription is active or do I need to start the download in order to keep the games?
As long as you purchased them (check your Purchase history on the web store) they're yours.
If your subscription expires they'll be yours if/when you re-subscribe.
They stay on your account as long as you remain a PS+ member, just go into the store & purchase history to download.
You just buy them then download them from your download list. You can only play games as long as your PS+ subscription is active.

Have you already clicked onthe PS3 version? Because it's a 'cross-buy' title, so if you click on either version the other is automatically purchased already. Just check your download list.

I think it's a crossbuy game. I only 'bought' the PS3 version but on my download list it also shows the Vita version.
I selected the ps Vita version and in my download list i only see the ps vita version… i actually wanted it for ps3 but didn't realize it was cross buy until reading here.

you will get all the games in instant game collection for free as long as you keep your subscription. you could "buy" them now before they get removed. you can subscribe now and get the free games on your download list first.

if you use PS3 (and vita) often, get the 1 year subscription, new free games every months. it will be carry on to PS4 as well.

Pity it's gonna be required for online play on PS4, but that's still a pretty awesome line up compared to Xbone Live.
It'll be interesting to see how soon they start adding PS4 games after its release.

And to clear up the confusion here. The games are free immediately once you pay to subscribe to PSN+ and they will REMAIN free throughout the duration of your subscription. For example, if you pay for a 3 months subscription then these games will remain free for 3 months. Once you subscription ends, your games will cease to exist until you re-subscribe, in which case they will become playable once again.

how big is the download? i have a small hdd on my ps3 - one of the original ones.

time to upgrade the harddrive. pretty much plug and play and u can get 500gb 2.5" hdd's for next to nothing. 500gb is plenty!
I have 750GB which is filling up fast, and I will probably put a 1TB into the PS4 on day one.
Ok I looked at the startwars pinball on the vits and showed a dollar amount including the plus version, the free vrsion was the trial only and had trial in the title.
Follwed the link and shows no indication of trial and followed through to the checkout and listed as free but not sure its a trial.

Anyone who's new to PSN+, don't forget to disable the Automatic Funding if you don't want to be billed automatically once your subscription runs out.
Make sure you're signed in, then go to the PlayStation Network section, then Account Management > Transaction Management > Automatic Funding = OFF.
PSN+ can be pretty great value, but it's a bit scammy that they enable automatic funding by default.
If you sign up for the minimum period and download NBA 2k13, can you still play it after your subscription expires? Is it still free?
