    I have bought a cheap compass like this and the magnet is so weak that it gets pulled towards nearby electronics/ferrous metals etc.

      Wouldn't a stronger magnet be more strongly attracted towards nearby ferrous objects? That's what magnets supposed to do, right, or did my primary school teacher tell me a lie?

        Yeah that's a very basic orienteering lesson, don't stand near power lines/metal tables/fridges/fluorescent lights because even a $100 Silva compass will be affected by ferrous metals.

        Hell even many non-ferrous metals seem to Mod: Foul Language with compasses.
