  • Is this going to be worth it? Didn't they just have their Friday 13th sale a couple of weeks back?

  • Harvey's are continuously having "this weekend only!" sales. It's how they operate. The fact is consumers get used to knowing there is a 'big sale' on this weekend, and if they don't hear any advertising, they just assume there are no specials on.

  • Thanks young Master (Luke?).
I scored a good bargain last August http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/6295 from one of these Super Saturday Sales, so I'll check out the web site 2moro 4 sure.
May The Force be with you.
    [ :- { )

  • Just saw the ad on TV. There are specials on 6-9am for pillows, 19 inch LCD TV, a ream of paper ($2.50) and a computer desk.

I think with HN, it's always up to the specific store to come out with the specials.

    • I didn't see $2.50 ream of paper, but saw $4.00 'Canon' branded paper ..Can anyone confirm what brand the one going cheaper was? cheers

  • on ecogamer.com.au theres a few reports that XBox's will be about $230 WITH a copy of Halo wars and anything else that usually comes in the arcade bundle.

    • its ecogamer.com

      • my bad

This is disappointing, it's saturday and the website has not been updated.

2-pack of pillows were $10 (down from $60) but had sold out when I got there.
Compact George Foreman grills are $20.
The cheapest version of eee pc was $297.
    Some towels were $15.
The xbox pack with a game was $328? by memory.
All-in-all nothing exiting for me at 7am in the morning - about half a dozen items reduced, but the typical Harvey Norman 'sale'.

These weekend sales are starting to bore me. Next time can you be a bit more specific about the deals offered.

"MASSIVE SAVINGS STOREWIDE!" is downright deceptive

It says to visit the site on Sunday to see what's on offer ??? What's the point of that ?

    • +1

It says to check the site tomorrow… but that page has been there since Friday. Way to go HN.

  • +1

Why so may + votes - It hasn't even shown up today

    • the sales still on…the website just isn't up to date

  • Hardly Normal's usual antic. Pull crowds with a headline and someone will buy something. The fact that the website is not updated is not an accident.

  • Yeah considering the issue of the website not revealing the bargains until tomorrow, and no idea about what bargains are happening I'll have to neg this. These "massive savings" either seem overhyped and continually happen every Saturday.

EDIT: Apparently the paper on special is not very good and can get jammed in printers.

Well I just picked up an XBOX 360 Arcade bundle (Jasper) with Halo Wars for $228….

That is the cheapest EVER… So a +'ve from me…

    • I want that cheap xbox! Anyone know which HN's carry these?

      • As far as I know, castle hill has some stock left.

    • Before Christmas I picked up a Jasper 360 Arcade w/ 2 free games, 20GB HDD and 3 months live for the same price.

    Nothing special :(

  • So no Logitech deals? Can't believe I missed that 2-for-1 thing last time :(

    • at Brisbane almost all logitech stuff looked to be 10% off or so.

That said…10% off can be beaten at other places on a normal day.

  • Got myself an Xbox arcade for $228 with Halo Wars included along with the other standard arcade games. They were actually sold out of the console but the sales guy was really nice and put one on back order at that price and I took Halo wars home with me (I could have just payed a deposit had I wanted).

I expected them to say no deal but yeah, really happy with that and it's a nice cheap 2nd XBox since I'm offloading Halo wars to my brother for $30 - $40 which is around the EB trade in value so even cheaper still.

This is the Brisbane CBD store for those interested.

    • Did you see anything else of interest? Any really cheap big TV's? Anything for the Wii? :)

      • all games that weren't on sale currently were 10% off. I wasn't looking for games. I'd say usually your better off elsewhere for those but maybe with 10% off there would be some good deals there.

A lot of the TV's were 30% off. Whether they were well priced after that I can't say mind you.

I saw alot of logitech gear was 10% off as were many digital picture frames. Some routers and the like on special too and I think there was a discounted EEE PC as mentioned above.

In fact the general gist I got was that a fair few things were 10% off and there was a bunch of other things I didn't look too closely at that were marked down by X amount.

Sorry I can't give more concrete info as i wasn't looking that much and was stuck thinking about whether I should get the 2nd XBox or not. The PS3 didn't seem to be on sale and I didn't notice anything regarding Wii hardware.

Anyway not a huge sale IMHO by any means when you consider their original prices but I'm very happy with the 360 and I'm sure there would be some other things worth getting.

  • Any $300 Asus EEEPC's left at Gosford Harvey Norman?

    • if I was you I'd just call incase by the time someone gets home they're gone

    • I was at the Lake Haven store a few hours ago and they had some of the $300 eePC's, with a limit of 2 per customer. They must have a few if they've specified 2 per cust rather than 1… or something.

  • I went to Warrnambool HN. There was next to no specials in the furniture section. but electronics was massive. picked up a marantz HT amp and Onkyo dvd for half price. Kettles & toasters were $3 each. EEEPC's for under $300, cordless phones $22, gps for $148, Dysons for under $400.

    • wow, never heard of ur suburb, but those deals sound fantabulous!

  • anyonw know what model eepc it was?

  • Harvey Norman is a shit place to buy stuff

    • agreed. Arrogant assistants, crap prices.

Still $228 for xbox 360 arcade with 3 games still a great bargain.

  • BAHAAHAHAHAHAHA Guitar Hero World Tour Complete Band set for the Wii, $167 bucks ONLY! At Harvey Norman.. so I walked to the nearby Kmart because I hate Harvey Norman, and they called in and sold me the thing for $167 from their own price of $319!!!

And the most important thing of all: I got to put it on my flybuys. WOW!

Today is a good day. I feel like I'm the King of Wii bargains. Kinda.

Oh otherwise the sale was kinda crap. The Xbox was tempting, had a bit of stock too.

    • I got a better deal before Christmas on the Xbox 360 deal than currently with Harvey Norman, so I actually think this deal is a bit disappointing. I could post the receipt if anyone wants.

      • Hi Kranbone
can you post the reciept for me
        much appreciated ta
