This phone isn't going to be great for Telstra or Vodafones 3G network. Optus or a reseller would be the only way to get decent use from it.

There are reports it's being sold without Google Play and the relevant google apps on Amazon. Maybe the rep can let us know if that's the case with this stock.

    • Thanks for the tip….saved me wasting time researching.
Otherwise seemed like something I may have contemplated wasting my hard-earned on ;)

    • Hi scottg87, thanks for your comment. Lenovo A820's frequency is "2G: GSM900/1800/1900 3G: WCDMA 900/2100". Only if network provider supports the frequency, A820 will work very well.

      • nvm

It supports Google Play. You will see the app when you get the phone. And you can install any android apps you like.

  • How does this compare to the THL W100?

  • No flash…

    • Hi, it supports flash.

      • +2

        He mean Camera flash ..

          Oh yeah.

  • SIM Slot: Dual SIM
    Network Standby Dual Network Standby

Are both SIMs active at the same time? ie. can you receive calls from either or do you need to switch between one or the other ???

    • +3

They're both on standby at the same time. There is no need to 'activate' either SIM to receive calls — both will receive calls.

      Wikipedia:
Dual SIM Shift - basic phones, which have 2 SIM Card Slots, only one SIM is active (able to receive calls), and shown on the screen, the users may switch to another SIM by choosing from the menu.
Dual SIM Stand-by (DSS) - allows two SIM cards to be on standby waiting for a call. When a call is established on one SIM card, the other is no longer active. Callers to the other SIM will hear a message that the phone is switched off or they'll be redirected to voicemail.

The former no longer exists — you probably only see Dual Sim Standby and Dual Sim Active on the market nowadays.

I am concerned on the picture that it says it's Hot, is that from the battery overheating ???

  • Cheaper here (including free shipping):

Rep, will you review the price?

  • +1

Only thing stopping me from getting this is lack of front camera :/
Great Optus 3G phone for price though.

    • Hello ChasinLies, check our category of smart phone, you will find what you want. Like THL 100 talked above, it supports front camera and back camera.

        Hi Rep,

Any links to other 900/2100 3g phones?

Also, can you confirm again that the A820 does have Google Play?

        Thanks

are there any cheap 850/900/2100 phones?

He's just trying to satisfy his customers. Take it easy man…

    • +2

Savit asked for a price drop, we got what we wanted. Unless you can find it cheaper else where that's not a proper use of a neg vote.

  • +1

How does the warranty work? Who provides it?

  • Why is the external card limited to 32GB? I'm looking for something that might take a 64 GB card.

  • Pretty Decent Optus phone for Price, Price and Coupon is for "Russian-Black" only. 2850mAh Battery here http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/HK-POST-free-shippin…

  • change to au dollars seems to be cheaper.

  • Rep (or all for that matter),

Pretty disappointed with the service from Geekbuying thus far.

Ordered this phone over the weekend, paid an exorbitant amount for expeditied shipping ($54 after incurring an additional $30 on the standard $24 for DHL delivery— apparently 8 minutes from the CBD of a capital city in Australia incurs a "remote service charge"- I wanted the handset quickly otherwise I wouldn't have expedited shipping in the first place, so i coughed it up- expecting a 3-5 day delivery as advised on checkout).

No confirmation of shipping as yet, no reply from an enquiry sent 48 hours ago.

Folks, is this what I should have expected?

    • Hi Adz81, thanks for your order. Please tell me your order number via private message. I will check your order.
