I know a few of us are getting ready for GTA V. I noticed there isn't an OzBargain Crew on the Rockstar Social Club (for Max Payne 3) so I started a new one in case anyone is interested in banding together.
Not necessarily bargain related, but is anyone attending any midnight launches?

These are the possible awards we can try for:
All In Order - $1,000,000
See all the Heists through from beginning to end and earn a handsome cash bonus. Complete all 5 Heists in order including all Setups and Finales.
Loyalty - $1,000,000
Trusting a stranger as back up on a Heist could go disastrously wrong. Find a loyal crew and pull off all 5 Heists back to back with the same team of players.
Criminal Mastermind - $10,000,000
Only professionals need apply. This is the ultimate challenge. Complete all 5 Heists in full on hard difficulty, in order, with the same team and without losing a single life.
Supporting Role - $100,000
Leave the logistics to the leader. Get your hands dirty and get paid for it. Complete all Heist Setups and Finales as a member.
Another Perspective - $100,000
Complete all Heist setups and Finales in first person mode. The leader must lock the camera option to first person when setting up the Heist.
I say that we give Criminal Mastermind a try, without expectation/pressure that we are actually going to do it. If we are unsuccessful then it automatically becomes a Practice run instead.
With Criminal Mastermind, we CAN fail missions and retry as long as nobody actually DIES. It will be hard enough without it locked to FPS mode for Another Perspective award so lets leave this off unless it has become a Practice run instead.
Once we complete the run, All In Order, Loyalty & Supporting Role will all come naturally anyway.
I hope that everyone has already completed every Heist and Heist Setup at least once. Doing so unlocks the ability to replay Heists from Lester and Host Fleeca.
We will need two people who can Host Fleeca as it's a two-person job and we all need to do them in order. So Player 1 hosts Player 3, while Player 2 hosts Player 4.
Then we all join up and complete the rest. I can be the Host Leader so everyone else can get "Supporting Role" award. I'm pretty sure I've completed this award anyway except it's not showing up.
I have the ability to Host Fleeca, who else has the ability to be Player 2?
Even if we don't get Criminal Mastermind this time, we will still get a shitton of money.
Anyone let me know if you want to practice on any particular setups/heists before Saturday and I can join.
@The Land of Smeg: Thanks for going to the effort of posting that. We can have multiple takes if we end up failing, using other members as hosts anyways. Will be fun!
@fanuch: I don't think it makes any difference who Hosts. I have only heard of problems with Prison Break losing the cops in the plane due to the host having Lag. But I have also heard of a workaround to try if this happens.

@fanuch: Same Host to complete the Heist Setup-Finale chain, but then Host can be swapped for other Heists.

Btw, how is it going to work with the Fleeca job? Seeing as that is two people only… I'm not too sure.
Also, I prefer FPS mode anyway so it shouldn't be too differ to get the "different prespective" one for me. I don't mind trying for it.
@ProjectZero: Leave Fleeca free in case we don't have another host who can do it. I can do Fleeca too. We need 2 Fleeca hosts
@The Land of Smeg: Well seeing Fleeca is the first heist. I think all of us should be able to host for that right?
@ProjectZero: If you've already completed Fleeca as a Host, then you can't go back to Hosting Fleeca until you have completed all the other missions as either a Host or Member, which then gives you the "Replay Heist" (including Fleeca) option.
I suppose we can do everything on hard from the get go but aren't some of you guys sub-30?
Also, don't worry about the hosting part, I've unlocked them all.
We can't try the FPV one unless we set up the heist that way and in which case everyone's view will be locked to FPV.
I've thought up a checklist that maybe you guys can tick off before we attempt it:
-Get to lv 30 if you aren't already so you unlock the super heavy armor
-Learn to fly both planes and helis
-Check that your mic works
-Alternate way to communicate in case you disconnect and we don't know where you've gone - Steam?
-Buy and equip the heavy utility vest and the bulletproof helmet
-Gone through every heist (desirable but I know may not be possible given time constraints)
@ChillBro: Sounds good, except that the Bulletproof Helmet is a placebo. No actual protection. FPV just increases the difficulty level so much, I don't think it's worth it for an extra 100k if we still have a shot at Mastermind for 10 Mil. If Mastermind is already toast then FPV is doable since it doesn't matter if someone dies anymore. FPV award doesn't need to be in order either, so it can be done anytime

I'll try to tick off everything in that checklist but just a query, by learn to fly do you mean max out the stats or just know the controls? @ProjectZero: Just do the best you can, you don't need maximum flight skills just be competent enough to get the job done/not crash/not die in a Plane or Heli. With the Prison Break Heist for example it is very easy to underestimate the difficulty of flying the plane. That plane is a real piece of junk - slow and unresponsive controls. You really got to fly it gently and with plenty of room from obstacles to not crash.
I've no way of checking my mic but i know that it works fine.
You can check it in game in options. If it works, you'll see the bar light up.

You can't if you have a R* version but I suggested it just as an alternative in case we get disconnected in game and we want to know what happened.

Also, apart from landing a damned heli in a precise marker, I have no problems flying helis or planes. I've actually flew for a prison break as well and the handling wasn't too bad… although we did fail that mission as I didn't know how far they had progressed with the prison break and missed the pick up. In terms of vehicles I'm quite confident in my abilities… again just don't tell me to land the heli in a effing 1cm diameter circle lol
@fanuch: I was actually thinking of having an invite only session, that way, we should be able to set the mic use to everyone.

The Fleeca Job dilemma:
I get this asked a lot so I'm going to inform you now before I go into any further details.
The Fleeca job is a two-person job, but the rest of the missions are for four players.
The team has to split up in teams of two, which do the Fleeca Job together, or otherwise the Mastermind award will not count up for everyone.
Hey sorry to say this but I started the challenge with whirlpoolers and now we're 80% of the way so I can't play tomorrow until it's done. You'll have to find someone else.
Sorry I'm going to pull out of this one. I have a lot of commitments at the moment and I really can't afford to be spending this much time on GTA unfortunately. Maybe in a month I could do a whole weekend but until then I could really only manage no more than 1 heist/setup per day.

When do you guys wanna try for the criminal mastermind award? Me and Fanuch have started it with the Fleeca job.
I would but it's incredibly hard. We just failed 3x over the weekend at heists 2 and 3.
If you still need me, I can help from Saturday after lunch onwards.
I can do Saturday after lunch onwards too, we didn't have any trouble completing the Heists for Loyalty/In-order/1st person to get Practicek except that our last minute #4 kept dying. It was harder in 1st person but we managed okay. If we had a reliable #4 (Bless his heart) we probably would have got it, even moreso without the 1st person lock. I would say that we should practice until Saturday and then start again at Fleeca. The main thing is that we need a reliable team.
Yeah, practice makes (close to) perfect so keep at it if you need to. I myself have done everything so many times I've lost count.
One thing I find that helps is being well rested beforehand. It's very different from MMOs in the sense that you can't keep grinding away half asleep. One mess up will screw up the whole challenge.
Should also have designated decent lengthed breaks for food, drinks, fresh air etc. I suggest one right after prison break heist and one after the series A heist.
Sorry for not being able to do the loyalty challenge with you guys but it won't happen again. :)
