  • Good freebie. This is a basic, short course on first aid principles with a focus on road accidents but it can easily be applied to other situations. I completed this course a few days ago and although I've completed a senior first aid course a couple of years ago, I found that it was a nice short refresher on the basics of approaching first aid situations. Regardless of whether you have any experience in first aid or not, this is definitely a valuable online course to complete.

  • Very good. i have done SFA course through fire brigade. But this should be done by everyone as it is a little corse that gives you a few basic skills that you may need :)

  • thx just completed it xD
though i hope ill never have to use it =O

  • Been thinking about doing something like this lately, +1

  • I've done one for both school and work and would highly recommend it. It's also very good to add to your CV.

  • I would suggest everyone does the 2 day course Senior First aid course, but this is still a really good deal :)

  • Wouldn't say its something to put on your resume. You'd want at least Level 2 First Aid to put on your resume to be any benefit.

I was told otherwise by people at HR. Provided the course is certified and well recognised it's something employers do take notice of. Either way, it's great to have the knowledge all round :)

      • I'll prefer to work in a workplace knowing that at least one of my colleagues have done the 1st aid course :)

  • thanks, Just completed it (failed once too)

  • +1

Great as a memory refresher if you've already done a first aid course in real life.

  • Excellent link. Just got my cert. Thank you for posting the link.

This is not nationally recognised, as it would say on the website if it was.
However, it is actually pretty interesting.

    • wanggg =]

  • Completed the course- got 8/8 first time around.
    Pretty logical,
    Cheers,
    Varun

  • thanks, i passed too, 1st time..
very useful information..looking at SFA courses now..been wanting to do it for some time..

  • I agree with comments that this is a good refresher if you've done a physical first aid course. I don't feel that I need to redo my senior first aid course even though it recently expired, this sort of refresher is ideal!

  • does the certificate last forever?

    • senior first aid lasts for 3 years, i would assume this one is the same.

      • Mine only lasted one year, needing a refresher each 12 months to keep valid, through Ambulance Victoria though..

    • I'm not sure whether this certificate actually signifies any real qualification or whether it has any national recognition as a first aid qualification.

      • it wouldn't, as you need to learn hands-on to even grasp the concepts, of pressure and positioning. No-where near the same on a computer

I do this through work, every year, but this is still a good freebie, me thinks:)
    Positive vote from moi.

  • Recommended skill for anyone to have - I have to do 3 hours of CPR training every 2 years so unfortunately this deal doesn't really suit me, but for the general community, better to have some knowledge than no knowledge.
