It's this price at most places locally.

    Same price at JB.

I know there is nothing special much about price but it would be better if you can get it from Harvey Norman for warranty purpose, feel safer to use

JB HIFI is easier to deal with in case of warranty claims. Harvey Norman are crap.

"feel safer to use" is such an invalid argument. Since when buying from JB, Dicks, or any other local stores feel unsafe?
Even you knew nothing special about this price, so is your post :)

"warranty purpose" is the reason I do not buy from Hardly Normal.

i can't tell if your name is 'web therapist' or 'web the rapist'…

  • This deal is $329 if you pick it up from their store: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/115373
I think it expires today though.

Went to Hobart JB today with the intention of buying one and it happened they were just unboxing a couple for display. I asked nicely and got 32Gb version for $329 ($339 normally). Cheapest brick and mortar AND internet price i think.

    • iPad mini starts from $369 for 16GB WiFi from Apple Store

      JB website shows $356

    • No, the ipad mini 32gb costs $468. The nexus 7 32gb is cheaper

      Are you deluded?
      Ipad Mini 32GB released November 2012 - Price $466
      Google Nexus 7 32GB released August 2013 - Price $338

It's almost 1 year newer yet more than $100 cheaper.

OK but the Mini will be replaced any day and like it or hate it, it has better build quality.

For me storage is not important, so my stance is a little different.

        • +1

What do you mean? Your original statement was comparing the prices, saying that Nexus was too expensive. What do you mean about storage not being important? Both models that I referenced to have the same storage size so it doesn't matter what your stance on storage is.

I'll admit the Mini has a better build quality, but that has nothing to do with your original statement. Besides, once you put on a case on these tablets, the build quality becomes irrelevant since you won't get to feel the aluminium on the Mini compared to the Nexus. And even then, the Nexus 7 literally destroys the Mini in terms of specs in every department.

  • if something wrong, bring it back to them without hassle ;)

if you bring it back to the same shop
any other shop and they'll use "we are a different franchise" excuse to not help you

    They also have the LTE edition as well;

  • Wait for a while, till they sort out their production issues. Have been burnt before by Asus.

Even if you are entitled to a refunds after a faulty product,
They will not give it to you so easily and spend at least 30 min trying to convince you a new batch will be in by next week. You'll probably receive a call to say your item has arrived in a months time.

  • Same price as everywhere else.

  • Is there any word whether Dick Smith is going to get these too? Just because I have a gift card for them, I'd like to buy from there.
