Cashback may get deined even if it initially tracks correctly. Mine did with one of the cashback providers.

    • Fair warning, cashback is never 100% guaranteed.

The good news is that even without the 4% cashback, this price is still the lowest I've seen available for the S25 Ultra at the moment (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong and there's a cheaper deal). It's best to view the cashback as a potential bonus on top of an already great deal.

I got it for 1392 for the s25 ultra 256gb via samsung education portal (i went to samsung store and price matched it and asked if they could do silicone case so instead of kindsuit and they were fine with it). Additionally if you don't want any samsung exclusive colour you can go to office works and drop it by another 5% via price match but no case then.

        • Just making sure I got it right: You went to a Samsung store to have them price match their Education portal price? TIA.

          • @w02m08w: Yep. I actually had got the one from office works first but after a few days i noticed a few issues and decided to return it. I then tried to price match it via that receipt but the guy said nope to that but said he'll price match the site and throw in the silicon case as well.

If you deicide to get it from officeworks, use onepass to 5x the points and the points value was something like 25-30$.

        • I've tried fiat a couple times over the years and they have said no. Must be only me they dislike

          • @ruprectaus: Oh thats unfortunate, i did it at the Perth store if that helps.

    • Was it through ShopBack? I placed an order when they had the 10% cashback promotion after applying the coupon. It tracked successfully, but now I’m worried it might get declined. :(

    • I never have problem with topcashback, but missing tracks on shopback from time to time.

  • +3

If you have access to Education store or CBA, It's cheaper.

    • +1

      How much difference?

      • 110$ difference for 256gb

      • I'm seeing $1644.30 on the 512Gb using education discount, so $20 less.

        • Better off with the normal Samsung store for extra 4% cashback from top cash back, right?

          • @kimba88: FYI on Friday I notice it was cheaper to buy from normal samsung site with the LIVEGALAXY101 code.

So i jumped on Samsung Sales Chat and ask if they could provide a loyalty discount. I ended up with a code that gave an extra 5% off in EPP store. Got S25U 512GB down to $1504.30

            • @Bugg0: Does $1504.30 include any other discounts or cashback? On the government store, I was able to work this out:
              Samsung government store = $1644.30
              Then add 5% new purchase = $1562.08
              Then add 5% loyalty code = $1483.99
Then add AMEX cashback = $1383.99
              Then add TRS = $1249.08

It seems your $1504.30 doesn't match up with any of the above.

              • @kimba88: Sorry my bad. Yeah $1562 sounds right.

Hello from my Samsung s21 Ultra 😅 still working fine !

      • +17

        Hand in your ozbargain card

      • +3

That's what I still say when current S21 works very well and no need to upgrade. Saves spending $1k+. Now that's a bargain.
Oh and as for "Thats what i use to say when i was poor, talk about being potentious…pft.

        • Surely your not getting full fay battery. I went from s22 ultra to s25 ultra and was so happy i did.

          • @Jklaro: Doesn't matter I'm generally plugged into the car charger 😊

          • @Jklaro: Ha jave an S22i, still fast enough just tje battery. I was going to go Fold 7 but no stylus support sucked. I use the one on my 22u often.

        • -2

Its fine as long as you're ok with a weaker camera in 2025. The "new", "best" camera is half the reason people upgrade to the latest device. Everything else ages gracefully.

          • +4

@alikazi: Mmm, not necessarily, even the 6 year old S10, takes decent pics (ok not as good as 2025 but not far off). Cam tech hasn't improved a lot over last couple of years (IMO).

        • +5

1k+ what are you buying the phone full price?

Any smart ozbargainer is utilizing all preorder deals and upgrading from a two year old phone for $300-$400.

      • +1

what richie rich is doin on bargain site? 😂

    • +1

Same, I'm on my second heavy duty case that is falling to pieces. I was tempted by some pixel 10 pro deals but holding out for S26 Ultra with magsafe.

Removed the screen protector about a year ago and it was like a brand new phone!

      • Nice, I also just changed phone cases as the original "Spigen" one was falling apart near the power button, that's almost 5yr of general use!

I'm also on the original battery

    • +2

      Still using S9+

    • S21 ultra for the win. Will replace battery soon and get another 18 months and probably get an s27 ultra in 2027 ;)

  • I'm sure another $400 deal is just around the corner

    • What do you mean by $400 deal?

  • Do you get the bonus trade in rates still?

  • +5

Amex offer as well (on my Qantas Amex anyway) - Spend $500 or more, in one or more transactions, online only at www.samsung.com/au by 30/09/2025 to receive one $100 credit. Limited to first 40,000 Cards to save the Offer. Exclusions apply.

  • +4

Aren't you better off using top cashback where they actually have the coupon code listed?

  • Has anyone been able to get further discounts from chat that stacks with this, if so, what % is the discount?

    • Yes, 10% at E store, but when I used at edu store it was lower about 5%. Code. Started with epx

      • How do you get the EPX code? They just sent me CRX and that doesn't stack. They claim EPX codes don't exist anymore?

  • Technically I think this deal could be a dupe since the other deal mentions ultra.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/923759
But I like how you've broken down the pricing and worked it all out with cashback as a consideration.

Also, I think it was better the other day when top cashback had 8% cashback with the coupon listed. Shop back had 10% the other day too.. but no coupon listed with shop back.. so possibly riskier relying on that cashback.

    • +1

Do you think it will get rejected through ShopBack? Mine tracked correctly, but I’m a bit worried now. I should have gone with TopCashback instead

      • +1

Not sure. But I hope you get it because you're a gooner! COYG!

        • Haha thanks mate! Fingers crossed it goes through. And yes always backing the Gunners! COYG!

  • +2

Miss old days Samsung deals with good trade in n hacks

    • +1

That happens at launch. Got the ultra and the watch for 1100 for a trade in with a smashed phone

  • This phone is holding its value pretty well, I remember my S23U lost value pretty quickly, I bought version 512 for around 1.2k mark right after the launch

    • +4

JB still seel s23 ultra 512gb for over 2k 😂

      • I broke mine and needed a new phone, it's hard to keep using a broken phone lol a hair line crack on screen also took down the camera, I see weird lights

Forgot to mention, I jumped from S9 to S23, and that phone is still solid lol

        • +2

I'm in the same boat.. however my s23 ultra screen cracked by itself in my pocket. There's actually so many reports of it online, but Samsung don't want a bar of it. So I'm on the hunt for either a new phone or replace the screen at $500

          • @kimba88: Why don't you diy from Ali express? Should only cost 100$ for the scree part. I'm doing the same but for my S21 ultra

            • +1

@FrozenFred: I wouldn't trust myself. Knowing me I'd stuff up the whole phone

              • @kimba88: Haha it's actually easy since I had to open mine due to water getting in and fogging up the camera and stopped it from working. Opened and dried it up and put it all together. Unfortunately I put too much pressure on the front cam screen trying to squeaky clean it to perfection and got a little crack which caused the ink to bled in the screen

                • +1

@FrozenFred: Oh no! See, things like that is what I'm scared of happening.

            • +1

@FrozenFred: I thought of doing it but could not find a genuine part. It is better I do it myself and save some money.

The good thing with Samsung replacing your screen is that, you also get a brand new batter replacement in that 500$

              • @sqheaven: I don't think they replace your battery too. It's only the screen and the outside edge of the phone because I think that's part of the screen.

                • @kimba88: The Castle Tower Samsung told me they always replace battery as well. Try it if you're keen lol I am just living with the broken phone. I must admit, it was great before it broke. Batter, camera, storage, speed, all top class.

                  • @sqheaven: Interesting. I may enquire about this then. However, I feel my battery has stayed pretty good. I do have the setting on where it only charges to 80% then stops. So I feel this may have preserved the battery a little

          • -1

@kimba88: Just don't buy another Samsung phone, this is the way forward for me, I can spend the money on something useful. I can't keep spending 2k on something that can crack inside of your pocket lol

  • +5

    Anything for FOLD 7?

  • +3

I'm not exactly poor, but how the heck can someone justify spending almost 1.5k on just a phone …geez

    • +3

spending money on something thats being used more than everything else most days with exception to your clothes and bed makes perfect sense to me.

I am not saying SOME people dont use there phones often enough to justify it but ALOT of people do use it very often.

      • -4

It doesn't when a solid 90%, if not 99.99%, of what people use their phones for daily could be done on a $400 phone with no noticable difference.

Even if you make use of all the ultra features, the current s25 generation are basically the same as the previous s24, but people still upgrade from the 24 because it's shiny and new.

If you apply that reasoning to shoes, spending $250 on air max's isn't going to be because they're better for your feet, it's because you think they're cool.

        • If you cannot see the difference in (lets say browsing or photos or just the display even) between a $400 device and an iPhone 17 Pro, this deal isn't for you.

          • -1

@bindok: You can't see the difference, you just think you can.

I already have a 120hz oled on my 3 year hold phone (nice to see apple finally catching up).

Also spending an extra 1k+ for 'browsing' or 'photos' is patently stupid.

            • -1

@tetra: Instead of calling others stupid, go search for 'confirmation bias' on your $400 120Hz oled phone. If you can't afford a more expensive phone, don't buy one.

              • -1

@bindok: Nice argument. Don't complain about others being rude when you're rude first.

It's hilarious how 'confirmation bias' clearly would be far more applicable to your example than mine.

But to realise that would require critical thinking ability and techonological literacy.

                • @tetra: I don't see myself complaining about you being rude in any of my posts. I'm only stating facts - you DID call people who buy expensive phones 'patently stupid'. Also, please don't preach literacy when you can't spell.

  • Does anyone know if I bought this now.. and liked the s26 ultra when it came out, how much a s25 ultra 512gb would trade in for? Just trying to figure out if I'd be at a significant loss or not.

    • Going on last years trade-in deal, I think you'll only be out of pocket by a couple of hundred.

    • why not just wait till feb and use your current phone (unless you need to upgrade badly)…

S26 probably gonna have magsafe and hopefully they implement the silicon-carbon battery

you can check how much S24 or S25 trade in value is now on their website.

Generally Samsung has really good trade in bonuses in february when they release their newest phones.

      • My screen is cracked on my galaxy s23 ultra and I'm about to go to Japan, so would like to be able to take photos. TRS is helpful as well.

        • I recommend just getting the screen fixed in Japan, it will be cheaper then buying s25 then trading in for s26.

          • @cheat: The thing is, I wouldn't know where to go and I would be wasting my holiday time I guess. Do you know how much it is in Japan to do and if they use genuine Samsung products? Also, if something happens to the screen (i.e. it comes loose, pixels missing, etc), I can't just take it back for them to fix it 😔

            • @kimba88: How bad is the cracked screen, can you post some pics (with screen on and off)?

Are you travelling by yourself or with others that can just take the photos?

Do you know how much it is in Japan to do and if they use genuine Samsung products?

Just google phone repairs in google maps when in japan..
You can also just try looking or asking for phone repair shops…
then ask them how long it would take to change the screen..

If you want genuine Samsung screen then it would cost more..
It is just gonna be a sunken/loss cost if you plan to get S26 ultra next year..

Also, if something happens to the screen (i.e. it comes loose, pixels missing, etc), I can't just take it back for them to fix it 😔

check the screen thoroughly after it is fixed before paying them..

This google search suggest it could cost

Use Third-Party Repair Shops: Look for local phone repair shops that specialize in Samsung devices. A Reddit user in Japan suggests average costs for unofficial repairs might be around ¥40,000 to ¥45,000.

              https://www.google.com/search?q=s23+ultra+screen+replacement…

Your S23 ultra is not going to get as much for trade in $ to S26 ultra due to it being older model and most importantly it is cracked.
If you get it professionally repaired then that is another sunken cost (so probably not worth it) if you going to traded it in anyway…

Anyway if you can keep using the S23 ultra to take pictures (despite the screen being cracked) then that is best..
OR find an older phone or just buy a digital camera or borrow a friend or family older phone would be another good option.

If you can't do any of those options then just get this S25 Ultra, do TRS and trade it for S26 next year..
You should not be out pocket too much due to the TRS…

I hope Samsung changes their design next year (the design is stale now s22 to S25 same back camera design)
and hopefully adds silicone carbide battery (not certain about this) and more likely (magsafe since google pixel did it)

              • @pinkybrain: Unfortunately I don't have any photos as I didn't have a spare phone to take photos before I sent it off to Samsung to look at. They still have it, but want me to either pay or pick it up unfixed.
The crack extends from the right side under the button to the left side. It's not heaps bad, but it got worse within a couple of days and started to spider out under the button when I took off and put back on the case. And unfortunately, that is when Samsung decided to assess it properly.. after it looked worse.
The cheapest I can find at the moment for 512gb is:
                Samsung government store = $1644.30
                Then add 5% new purchase = $1562.08
                Then add 5% loyalty code = $1483.99
Then add AMEX cashback = $1383.99
                Then add TRS = $1249.08

So not sure whether that makes it a bit better given its approx $750 more than just replacing the screen?

Can anybody get cheaper or seen cheaper at launch?

                • @kimba88: i would say go get s25 if u plan to not trade. but you are still going to lose out on money from trading to s26 after s25.

the choice is if you are fine with losing out on a few hundreds to upgrade right away when s26 comes out after s25.

i think with the current situation, you seem set on getting the s25 so i would say get it. you can't go wrong with it either espc at 1249.08. for all we know, s26 could be worse or look worser then s25 too and you might just stick with it and not trade in.

                  • @cheat: I'm definitely not set on getting the s25 ultra. I probably do prefer to wait to s26 ultra, however, it is a gamble waiting to hear specs.. if it still has snapdragon, etc. I also want a resolution before I travel overseas if I can.. so it's either fixing my screen or buying new. I was hoping at $1249.08 I wouldn't be losing out on a trade in for s26 ultra.. I was hoping it would cover it to be honest.

                    • @kimba88: ohh okay. s26 is still a good few months away to be revealed.
is your main priority with your phone is to take photos while in japan? or actual use of phone in general.

                      • @cheat: Would like to be able to take beautiful photos in Japan. We are going over autumn so was hoping to capture some nice photos. The galaxy s23 ultra was great at doing that.. but if I leave the screen unfixed, I worry it could malfunction at anytime. But then there are people that have cracked screens for years. Just with the size of the ultra, I feel like it may be a bit riskier

                        • @kimba88: If the goal is to take beautiful photos in Japan, you actually won't go wrong with a compact camera from a second hand store in Japan + get tax free on it too. The price would be 200-300 but the quality is equal or better then Galaxy s23 as well + being able to do video for a long time for nice memories too.

And so when we get knews of S26, you most likely can resell the compact camera for near the price when you don't need it anymore.

This is if you are thinking of absolutely upgrading your phone.

If not, then I would recommend fixing your screen in Japan or while in Australia.

                          • @cheat: Hmm.. I really don't want to have to go shopping for a camera whilst on holiday. Plus having a compact camera is possibly going to be annoying carrying around another device since I'll need to use my phone for translation, maps, theme parks, etc.
I think of your options, it seems like fixing it in Australia is probably the least inconvenient for me.. but not a cost I wanted to pay because of the risk of it cracking again by itself. Gah! It was still a brilliant phone though!

                        • @kimba88: Does your crack phone already have a temper screen protector?
If not just put one on to prevent it cracking further..

When travelling you will likely need a phone (for google maps, google search, browsing)
so if the current S23 Ultra cannot be used as is, then you will need to get a phone (any phone)…

You could also look at possibly buying a second hand phone (e.g. iphone 12, 13 etc) which is pretty cheap nowadays
and will have better trade in value than Samsung phones.. when you want to trade it for S26 Ultra etc.

Specwise, Samsung will release it like all their previous S series phones released each year
                          -better cpu, camera etc..
-maybe more ram on the base models (like Apple)
                          -more AI stuff..
-they make make the S Pen even worse than S25 or remove it entirely..

The main thing I am interested in is if they redesign the phone or keep the same design they have been doing since S22…which is looking very stale now..
and also if they do silicone carbide battery.
The magsafe hopefully and very likely will be the included..

Personally Samsung is like Apple nowadays..
not make big changes in design (until now for Apple iPhone 17 series after keeping the same design for so long).

It's mainly the Chinese phones makers nowadays that are doing cutting edge designs and features (e.g. 100W+ charges, 3 foldable screens)

                          • @pinkybrain: It did have an $80 OtterBox alpha screen protector on there until Samsung took it off for their assessment.. so again another cost I will need to fork out for the galaxy s23 ultra. The issue is, the s23 ultra has curved screens, so where the crack starts and now finishes is edge to edge.. which screen protectors do not fully cover. I imagine a screen protector could act as a band-aid.

Yes, I will definitely need my phone for all those things travelling.

I am currently using my mum's old Motorola g8 and the camera on that is absolutely rubbish. I will certainly not be using that for travel unfortunately.

Yes, the features will be interesting to see if they get proper upgrades or not on the 26. I personally hate that they removed Bluetooth on the s pen.. that was my main use for the s pen.. and certainly a people please when taking big group photos.

    • I'd say go for the S25 Ultra…the S26 line up is rumoured to have the Exynos soc again which is on Samsung's new 2nm fabrication which isn't really tested yet in terms of efficiency/battery life and performance compared to TSMC Snapdragon. There is a chance the current SD Elite will perform the same so you wouldn't even need to upgrade until a couple of years later.

If I were going overseas I'd want to get a new phone now. The worse that could happen is it turns out the S26 will be a major jump with silicon-carbon battery, faster than 45w charging, snapdragon chipset, way better camera and complete redesign that redefines the phone (not just magsafe)…in which you can always trade in….but that's probably 5/5 unlikely, and if it is it's a win imo.

      • Awww.. why would they downgrade from snapdragon again? They need to stick with what works well!
It's really a tough decision. I am contemplating seeing if I can wait it out and just keep using the phone with the cracked screen. But I do worry it'll get worse and may even switch off. I think if I applied a tempered glass screen protector, it would make me have to push harder on the screen for it to be sensitive to my finger, so I am a little hesitant getting a tempered glass protector as a band-aid.

What code was this and did it stack with the coupon code? Samsung chat are saying only one code per transaction and are not providing me with any other code than LIVEGALAXY101

Not sure any codes will be stacking with this, but if there is one that stacks, I'm also keen for one. The one the Samsung chat gives out doesn't stack unfortunately.
