Clearly they are just hoping this will just blow over. Lost a lot of customers world wide out of this one I think.
No response so far, 3 emails sent on Monday evening (in reply to the cancellation).

For me, getting the game (from P-A) is still a better option than getting a refund and then trying to find it elsewhere at a reasonable / bargain price.
I agree totally. I really want the game also instead of a refund but that is not what is going on here. I even held off buying a second system that had bundled The Last Of Us & GTA V because I had bough this. Now I don't get either. While the best case would be for them to retract the cancellation, they clearly would have know there was going to be a backlash but decided it was wroth it for them to proceed. Really disappointed, as is everyone who got burnt, but the chance of getting them to honour the purchase now is gone. They cancelled the orders and that's that. Only thing people can do now is make them pay for their choice through ultra bad publicity. Let the people rise up. Lool
The Last of Us on play-asia now says sold out and out of stock. Unfortunately any compensation from them is virtually zero. With 100 thousand likes on Facebook, I'm sure they can cope with a few comments from angry customers. We need hundreds of comments not a dozen

I emailed them after hearing that my order was cancelled to express my dissatisfaction. This was their reply:

Asia, Europe and the US to find alternative stock and after exhausting all
channels we have been left with no choice but to cancel remaining orders.

Very unhappy they took 4 weeks to email saying 'oh yeah, your order is cancelled. Refund in 2 days'

Like most places that sell games (this seems to be a trend) they handled the situation very poorly. If they had explained the situation earlier then there might not have been so much hate for them right now. But to wait 3 weeks before even contacting people - Thats enough for me to not buy anything from them again.

Only thing to do is neg future play-asia ozbargain posts I guessOr run a daily campaign of posting negative comments on their Facebook page. They are watching the page because they are responding to non Last of Us enquiries. Reality is this will just blow over. I'll never buy from them again.
In saying all this the first OzBargainer to find a sub $50- (preferabily $40-) deal on this game is going to get so many votes it's not funny.

I referenced this thread in my original email to them. They clearly don't care as I've been refunded along with everyone else. I don't believe that ran in order as I have seen people with order numbers after mine say their copy has been shipped so I guess it was a bit of potluck.

Received my copy of The Last of Us this afternoon (registered mail).

I am still waiting for my refund (paid with Paypal). Guess it was Chinese national holiday last week, maybe they just return to work this week, but if still no refund by tomorrow I am going to lodge a Paypal complaint.

Bought mine instore for $79 on release. Worth every cent. Playtime online is over 7 days and counting, plus two playthroughs (14 hours each). 196 hours of gameplay for $79. Done deal.

I've played a few hours now and as much as I have recently became tiresome of gaming I am enjoying this game. I used to find myself with much more time for gaming but as the kids get older either they claim the console, the TV or my time and energy. Still, I'm finding this a good game and a great tale.

Mine got cancelled which was really disappointing. Was really looking forward to getting this game.
I received mine last week. Pity others had theirs canceled.
Paypal can't do anything but get the money back - that is correct. The point of disputing before Play-Asia refunds (who knows how long that will take) is that Play-Asia has a merchant account with Paypal & if too many people dispute payments made to Play-Asia then Paypal will pull service provision to Play-Asia. This is something an online business like Play-Asia can't afford. It would mean a massive loss in revenue as I know many people prefer to use Paypal for online payments due to the protection it offers so they will go elsewhere for game purchases. Basically it puts Play-Asia in a very vulnerable position if they lose merchant status with Paypal.
Re complaining directly - if Play-Asia cared they wouldn't have done what they did. Direct complaints via email & Facebook won't do anything as they have clearly made the decision not to honour the price we all paid & want more for the item (remember they are currently selling the item on their website for double what we paid). In saying this I have posted on their FB page but more to warn others to steer clear.
We can all sit back & see what happens ( basically let them get away with it) or we can make enough noise online that they never pull this crap again. I wont be buying from them again but it may save some future customer some grief.
