  • Essentially a free to play game at this price.
Play now and resell a month later and you'd at least get your money back if not earn $5 or so :)

  • +1

Thanks OP. Awesome deal. Just bought a copy

  • +1

    Thanks OP. bought one.

    • +1

Looks like I got the last one!

  • +2

    It's expired….

  • -2

Pretty sure this is a price error. BTW price back up to $69.90 USD

  • +1

Changed to $77 just as I was checking out! !@$!@@$%%!@^$

    • same here. devo.

  • Had the screen open for with the price at $29.90. Spent a few minutes looking for playasia codes then when I clicked add to cart its $69.90 in cart.

    NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • and its goooooooooone :(

  • Thanks for the post, bloody awesome price! It's my first time using Play-Asia, does anybody know where i put the State on my address in account details, there doesn't seem to be a place for it? Or does that really matter.

  • Damn. Missed a great deal. Any willing to on-sell let me know! But I'm not hopeful… :(

  • successfully resisted myself and didnt buy it. feeling happy now. have some backlog to finish in 3 months and then will buy for much less than this price.

    • +1

I don't think it will be "much less" than $30 in 3 months' time, maybe $20 at best?

      • Once PS4 is out, the whole world's concentration will be on PS4 & all next gen games. So majority of PS3 games will be left behind.

        • Hopefully that's the case! However with the Playstation 3's launch, PS2 games hung around for ages - in comparison to Xbox games quickly vanishing after the 360's release.

  • +1

so they are out of stock since the beginning?

The game The Last of Us (PlayStation 3 (PS3) Europe, No Region Protection)
is not yet available. We have been in contact with our supplier and just
waiting for the stocks. Rest assured, we will immediately ship out the
order as soon as the stocks came in on our warehouse. We kindly ask for
    your patience in the meantime.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Best regards,

    • My order still says "Preparing order" on the website with estimated shipping date September 17, 2013. Hopefully that means I was within the first bunch of people to grab a copy while they still had stock available.

      • +1

        Yep, me too.

Estimated shipping date: On or before Sep 17, 2013
Please note that the estimated shipping date can be exceeded in rare cases.

Play-Asia have never let me down yet.

  • +3

Estimated shipping date: On or before Sep 18, 2013
Please note that the estimated shipping date can be exceeded in rare cases.

    hopefully ships tomorrow

    • It's been moved back a week…. Now has the 1W symbol. Lame. Why advertise it as in stock when it is not???

      • +1

I haven't had this show on mine, still just has preparing order. Was yours dated for the 17th previously?
As for advertising stock they do not hold many businesses do a bulk deal with distributors and sell in anticipation of delivery. I'd say there has been a hold up in stock arrival.

  • Still not dispatched. It said on or before 17th Sep and now its not showing any estimated shipping date. Anyone had any luck?

    • +1

Similar here, though my order is:

      Preparing order
Estimated shipping date: On or before Sep 18, 2013

    • Same here. Up until yesterday it said the 17th September, but now it's just "preparing order".

      • +1

Likewise. Most likely inundated with the huge number of orders but it did go OOS so I'm hoping they didn't oversell and now have to cancel orders.

      • +1

I've shopped with p-a a lot and this is how their system handles it when the estimated delivery date is surpassed so I wouldn't worry too much.

        • Thanks for the info! I'm a first time customer to Play-Asia so it just had me worried when the shipping date estimate just vanished.

        • Mine is the same now, can only see "preparing order" - no dates. Info posted below suggests Play-Asia still haven't received stock. I'm not good at being patient, but I will try my best :)

  • +1

This has been happening a lot lately, companies selling items that they don't even have stock of.

  • +4

I shoot them an email and they said that they are still waiting for stock. No indication of the date it will be shipped

  • +3

this is ridiculous, how come when we bought it it said in stock, once we paid, they said it is out of stock?? this is crazy.

    From them

Yes we already received the payment. The item The Last of Us (PlayStation 3 (PS3) Europe, No Region Protection) is still not in stock yet. We are still in contact with our supplier for the re-stocking of the product. And we will get back to you as soon as we received any update for the item. In the meantime, we kindly ask for your patience.

  • +2

It is showing available again and to be posted within one week. How about sending to people who already bought it two weeks ago.

  • +1

They may be slow sending the game to us, but they sure are fast taking our money though, lol.

  • Damn take soooo long to get a copy

  • Has anyone's shipped or awaiting despatch yet?

    • Nothing yet, and it's been two weeks today since the order was placed.

    • This is getting ridiculous. I know I'm impatient but, 2 weeks on and mine still says "Preparing Order"

      Come on!

  • +2

14day later. Preparing order has changed to a Red Wait icon. So much for a bargain, will be playing XB1/PS4 by the time they even put it into an envelope.

    • +1

Same here. This is really disappointing as a first time customer to Play-Asia, but I guess it's worth the wait for the good deal on the game.

      • +3

Same here, first time customer. The waiting would be ok if we actually knew what was going on or when it was coming - the lack of communication from them is the problem.

No email updates at all about my order. Have rec'd 2 advertising/marketing emails though.
No useful info via my account / order page on their website.

For all the PlayAsia fans here, it's not up to the customer to chase the business to find out what the hold up is~>two weeks after taking our money and no contact is very poor form.

        • If you aren't happy then get a refund.

You won't get any better service from other online stores (eg. WOW HD, VideoEzy, Blockbuster, etc) so i'm not sure what you're expecting here.

If you want customer service, shop in a bricks and mortar store.

If you want cheap prices, shop at online stores.

        • I don't know what you are talking about.

I've been shopping with online stores for years and never had this lack of comms before.

          OzGameShop
          Zavvi
          Amazon
          MightyApe
          Many others..

I'm not going to sit here and list them all, but I've not had any problems with online retailers.

Funnily enough, it's the B&M's online counterparts that I've had more trouble with! In terms of getting items delivered in a reasonable time frame, or at all.

        • I've had a similar experience with OzGameShop. Preordered LittleBigPlanet 2. Game was released. My order didn't ship. I had to chase it up with them after a week of nothing shipping. They didn't bother to communicate with me why this happened, and when I asked about it I didn't get an answer either.

In my experience, I haven't had a single online store communicate with me at all if my product was not in stock at the time. The usual service is that it just gets placed on backorder and its up to you to sift through their website to find what happened to your order.

If you have a question about your order, you contact their customer service. I asked Play Asia what was going on with my order and they got back to me that day.

Regardless, my point still stands. Your choices are request a refund, ask for an update on your order, or wait it out.

  • This sucks. By the time I get it, PS4 will be out.

Wait - Backordered, ships once restocked

  • I'm seeking a refund, will see what they do.

    • +4

I now have my refund pending after having to request it a couple times and finally threaten with a paypal dispute.

Even in today's communication they made no mention that they had received some stock and were starting to fulfill orders.

Their communication is terrible and I will not be purchasing from them in future until their customer service improves. I hope that in my order being cancelled it means one of you can receive your copy sooner.

  • +1

I ordered 2 copies. One of them changed to "Packing Order" today so i'm guessing the stock has begun to arrive.

  • +1

Good news! My order has now changed from "Preparing order" to "Packing order" :) Soon.

  • I just checked my order, mine still Preparing order :(

    • +1

Yeah only one of my orders has been changed to "Packing Order". I'm guessing that PA completely misjudged the supply/demand on this.

      • +1

Well the price was just too good. The weekly deal didn't even last one day.
My order has moved to packing as well but the credit card has not been charged.

  • Same here, my order is on "Preparing order". Just emailed them asking when to expect stock availability. If still no answer but end of next week I am going to ask for refund.

  • Just got an email saying my order has been shipped! Phew, finally :)

  • +1

    Shipped here also

  • Still Waiting for mine to be shipped

    • +1

One of mine shipped. The other did not. It'll ship in the next week or so I would guess.

  • +6

    • +1

Yeah I got the same. That's pretty poor form.

    • +1

      Same here. Very disappointed.

    • +1

      Me too, this is ridiculous

    • +1

I got the same notification, and I ordered fairly early in the sale as well. Not surprised, Play-Asia is pretty useless these days.

    • +6

      Load of crap

Why are they still selling it:
      http://www.play-asia.com/the-last-of-us-paOS-13-49-en-70-4sx…

Last time i will ever order from them and will be warning everyone i know against dealing with them

    • +1

Damn :( Sorry to hear that, I must have just got in when they still had stock. This is a very disappointing result after they said the stock was backordered, I assumed you would just have to wait, not have your order cancelled.

  • +1

got the same message, would like to hear if anyone actually did get a copy from this offer or did we just get trolled

    • +1

      Mine was posted last week.

  • +1

Same message here - won't be ordering from Play Asia ever again.

    • +1

      Who cancels and order almost a month later ? ? ? ?

First and last time ordering from Play Asia

  • +1

Same, my order got cancelled… daylight robbery.

  • +1

    cancled… what a f***ing joke

  • +1

Yep, they cancelled my order too. Not cool playasia…

  • +1

Order cancelled. WTF! Was looking forward to it!

  • +1

Order cancelled here too. Seems unusual that they've supposedly run out of stock but are still selling it on their website.

  • +1

Mine too - poor form. We better get the refund of what we paid in AUD - the AUD has appreciated since the beginning of September when we made the purchase

  • +1

Cancelled. Sent an angry email to customer service and I suggest people to do so as well. Maybe they could give us some form of compensation for the absolutely appalling communication and massive amount of time wasted on this deal…

    • I've sent 3 emails so far… no proper reply yet, just automated responses…

This is VERY dodgy behaviour from Play Asia.

      "+" Revoked

      • How do you revoke + vote?

        • +1

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/115933/votes

If the link doesn't work, click on votes up the top, find your vote and you'll see a Red circle that you can click on to revoke.

Sorry OP, but Play Asia don't deserve positive publicity after their mass cancellations, while actually having stock!

  • +1

    Dodgy!

  • +1

Complain on their facebook, it's probably more effective, I'm going there to complain, pitiful service especially since they are still advertising the game as available to purchase.

EDIT: It's also been 20 days, is this how companies earn money now, trick people into a good deal, hold their money for a long amount of time for bank interest and then release? A la Kogan, Lenovo,

  • +1

Everyone post on their facebook page. This was really shitty.

  • +1

    What a scam!

Have complained on their Facebook page. Not that it will do much good, a company that does that to it's customers does not care in any way at all.

  • +1

I'm really angry with Play asia. Don't care how cheap their games are, they have lost my business for good.

  • +1

Just got the same email about cancellation. What an absolute joke. Why did it take this long to notify us. Luckily GTAV is softening the blow a little. Nonetheless very very unimpressed.

  • +2

Yes got the same lame excuse about shortage of stock and how they tried so hard. I wonder what they did with my money for a month…

    • +1

Probably bought more stock of The Last Of Us to sell at the current advertised price of US$59.99. Would Lol if I wasn't crying. I want my game!

  • +1

Got the email too. Never gonna visit their site again after this bull…

  • +1

not happy. i thought it would be arriving any time now.. instead you get a canceled order, AFTER ONE MONTH!!

  • +1

Order cancelled. Took them one month to figure out they have no stock. Ofcourse I guess I can't complain as I have accepted some terms and conditions before clicking purchase. Never going back.

  • +2

    Hi Gang,
Same deal here with order cancelled. Facebook Complaint is good idea. Dispute Payment via Paypal is better idea. These guys will shit if they get too many disputes at Paypal because it is really important to them to have a Merchant Paypal account. Think what an it would mean for an online business if Paypal pulls their ability to take payment via Paypal…..
If you cant tell I am pissed off & looking for blood! JUST SO ANGRY! HULK RAGE!!!!

  • +2

I complained on Facebook and a Play Asia rep is asking for my order number. I responded with "Whats the point, you guys have told me I'm not getting my game and a refund is due, what are you going to do with my order number"

    What a lame company.

  • +2

They have stock shipping in 5-15 days. Pricks

  • Let's put brains together. How can we make this work. Could we order now & pay current price via Paypal & then dispute the second order once item is shipped. They cant really stop item once in mail & Paypal would have to refund second order as you are getting the game from the $29.90USD order. Could this work? Might not be worth the risk of dealing with these guys again though. Was really looking forward to the arrival of this game.

    • I thought of this but they probably have postage registration linked to an order. So technically the posted game would be linked to the more expensive order= no refund?

I don't want to risk that.

  • +1

    OK:

Paypal dispute lodged and email sent to Paypal describing the situation. Especially the part where they are selling the game right now IN STOCK for $59.99 US.

  • I don't think paypal can do much in terms of getting the game for you. The most thing PayPal can do is to get your money back, which playasia is willing to do. PayPal won't and can't force playasia to ship the game, unless they deploy a secret agent to go there pointing out the gun at playasia.

The best you can do is to lodge a complaint directly with playasia, trying to get them to honour the price or getting some sort of compensation for your time and opportunity.

Some of us has already lodged complaints via facebook. I reckon you should wait to see how it turns out before doing anything further. I think at their end, they are trying to come up with something or just play dumb because usually it won't take them that long to respond
