Hi guys. This is my first post so be nice :).

I just picked up an awesome 2013 Sony 50" Smart LED TV for $1050. I recently bought two TVs from this Sony Store so they sold me this one at cost price. Cheapest on static ice is $1142.90 and Good Guys sell for $1199.

Model is Sony KDL50W700A 50"(126cm) Full HD LED LCD Smart TV. It does not have 3D (I don't want it anyway) and is super sharp with a slim metal bezel. There's no other branded TV at this price with 4 HDMIs and two USB inputs. Comes with two remotes and can be controlled via iPhone app. IMHO Sony's make the best panels and more natural colours than Samsung.

MUST ask for Luke at the Robina Sony Store (tell him Phil just bought one at that price). He's a really good guy.

You can try getting it price matched elsewhere but other stores just laughed in my face. There were only six left after mine.

  50hz panel, but I doubt most people will know the difference.

  And? What's the bargain? You can get a 50" plasma for hundreds less than this.

    Some people (for some reason) prefer LED, so its still a legit deal as long as they have stock.

      Not sure what reasons those are; but somehow in the world of consumer electronics the technologically inferior standard always manages to triumph: VHS over Betamax, VHS over LaserDisc, MP3's over loss-less compression, Blu-Ray over HD-DVD and now LCDs over Plasmas.

        And it looks like the next gen panels - OLED will win over SED (which didn't even ever come to market). Again, inferior wins.

  That Robina store is pretty good, can generally get them to price match and undercut. Enjoy the tv mate!
