[@supabrudda](/comment/5098070/redir): I haven't traveled much, no, but from what I can find online: Paris (Charle De Gaulle) airport is...

All of the foreign airports you mentioned are within the "metropolitan area" of the respective cities, though. Avalon Airport is not within...

Correct, but it also services a lot of other areas, not *just* Melbourne. Saying that the flight departs Geelong would be much more...

[@supabrudda](/comment/5097651/redir): Okay, but the description of this bargain says "Departing Melbourne (Avalon)". A flight which takes...

I've been a member of eBay since June 2000.

Technically this isn't eBay's 18th birthday, but eBay *Australia*'s 18th birthday. eBay itself has been around since 1995 (22 years).

In reality the power usage is never going to come close to the TDP figure. My 3rd gen i5 has a TDP of 77W, but when gaming, the CPU will...

What's the deal with the huge number of these refurb Dells lately? Why would a business get rid of PCs which are still very decent?
20/09/2017 - 11:08
Huh? 95W TDP is not average, that's *maximum* power draw. Average will be considerably less - i.e. when idle, a CPU will use less than 10W.

[@TrulyUnicorn](/comment/5093957/redir): Wow, $40 for 4GB of RAM? I remember when it was only $22. If I knew prices would double in future,...

No it isn't. There are plenty of actors who play doctors on TV who aren't real doctors. I'm pretty sure Rodger Corser never went to medical...

The 12MB version was close to $1k locally, which is why I made the stupid decision to import one. I ended up getting hit with massive...

[@attfiecz2](/comment/5090162/redir): Lucky, but I've only been with them for 6 1/2 years... not sure I'd get the same offer?

That's crazy money for a video card. The last time I paid anywhere near a grand for a video card was in 1998, when I imported a 12MB...

Unfortunately, though, the movies are useless without HD, which means having to fork out $10 just to enjoy this "free" trial. Still worth...

Normal price for Battlefield 3 - $29. Rofl... that game is nearly 6 years old now.

Kettle chips are also 50% off at Coles at the moment; same deal for Greenseas tuna at Woolies.

[@TheContact](/comment/5067018/redir): But the new Intel 6-core chips are literally a few weeks away??
12/09/2017 - 19:26
That one has no OS, which makes it much worse value.

[@TheContact](/comment/5065506/redir): Well considering the CPU/motherboard is the longest lasting part of a PC, the long-term does matter....

My point is this - don't make the switch just because one horse gets ahead of another for a short while. Look at the long term picture.
12/09/2017 - 11:18
Guys, don't jump on the wagon and switch just because of this. Remember the Athlon was beating the Pentium III? How long did that last......

Wow, Daytona USA was $2 here in Australia? I lived in the USA at the time, and I think this game was something like 75c or maybe $1 to play.

[@Lysander](/comment/5062113/redir): Look you're probably right, no game in that era ran in high resolution or 16:9 anyway, so they're not...
