yeah theyve been monitoring our traffic for a while

    • Doesn't happen in incognito mode.

  • Seems like a good price for entry level DSLR. Any one know of a better deal on an entry level camera like this?

    • Same camera, but with a slightly different lens, and cheaper price ($323):
      http://www.camerasky.com.au/canon-eos-1100d-kit-with-18-55mm…

I'm not familiar enough with camera nomenclature to tell you what EF and IS stand for, or which lens is the better one.
I'd hazard a guess that IS = Image Stabilisation and EF = Electronic Focus, but those are purely wild guesses on my part.

      • forum post on exactly these two lens

      • Cheapest shipping to 2000 from CameraSky is $68. HN is a better deal if you can pick-up (and are happy with the non-IS lens)

Ouch, I didn't see that, and going from some forum posts, seems they have a less than stellar history in delivering..

Yep, never thought I'd see this, but the HN deal is the best one so far..

I know that a price difference of $100+ is starting to get a bit far from the canon mentioned, but I bought the 1100D about 3 months ago and have now upgraded to the nikon D3200.

      http://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/nikon-d3200-kit-af-s…

If you look at reviews and compare these two,
      http://snapsort.com/compare/Canon-1100D-vs-Nikon-D3200
then the additional $100 doesn't seem quite so much when you have a huge 24MP sensor and overall a much better IQ.

Just my thoughts as I have been in your situation only a few months ago.

  • Nikon 16.1MP S8200 Coolpix Digital Camera - Red $12 lol but no where have stock.

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/nikon-16-1mp-s8200-coolpix-di…

Suddenly so many to choose from, OK I am noob to all this compact camera which one is best for below $400?

    Nikon V1 with flash
    Canon PowerShot G15
Panasonic GF3 Black Twin Lens Kit
Sony NEXF3 SLK Camera with SEL 1855 Lens

    Any suggestion?

I jumped on this bargain last time it was posted. Since then I haven't seen a cheaper price for this model or any other Canon DSLR and camera buffs that I chat to have been impressed when I mention how much I got it for. I bought it because I wanted to try out SLR photography but didn't want to drop $600 plus to then discover I wasn't really into it.

As a beginner I have found this camera to be awesome so far, and haven't yet hit any limitations that have tempted me to upgrade. Coupled with a Canon 50mm lens that you can grab at HN for about $125 it's a solid piece of kit to take on trips/weddings/parties etc.

If you're like me and aren't ready to commit the big dollars but are interested in photography I reckon this is the way to go.

omg , sony nex 5r body for $380

    • I've been looking at the NEX 5R as well, but if you buy the body for cheap, you then still need to buy 1 or 2 lenses & then pickup a flash. AFAIK, the lenses & body don't have IS, so it might be possible to find a Sony or third party IS lens (though I haven't researched that yet).
thanhliemduong, was that what you were thinking about or do you have other plans if you only grabbed the NEX 5R body?

      • i thinks for nex.u just buy the sel 50 1.8 and sigma 30 2.8 .the kit also ok.but i bet you ll upgrade later .

  • What's In The Box?

•1x Canon EOS 1100D DSLR Camera
    •1x EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 III Lens

    Note..>> No IS lens…
